Series, held at the well-known Valmiera BMX Track, during the celebration weekend of 20 years BMX in Latvia. Edžus came out of the first straight in 3rd position, chasing Artis Zentiins and Arturs Matisons down the second straight. He jumped low over the big double and avoided the carnage in the 3rd turn to take the win in the strong Elite Men field followed by Olympic Champion Maris Strombergs coming back strong after a bad gate. Rihards took the holeshot and led from start to finish just extending his lead on each straight. Rihards proved himself to be a good pick and keep an eye on this kid in next year's European title chase.

Formula will be present at the European Championships Races with the brand new Formula European Trade Team. Last weekend our Team Manager traveled to Latvia, home of the first Olympic Gold Medal in BMX, to sign our first riders for the new 2009 European Formula Trade Team. Edžus Treimanis (Elite Men) and Rihards Veide (Junior Men) will be riding for Formula next season and proved to be a good pick. Both riders won the final round of the 2008 Latvian Championship
