It was a wild night of riding as some of the best Dirt jumpers in the world tore up the course in the first Finals of the 2009 Dew Tour. It was a tough comp, and in the end it was Idaho's Josh Hult who took top spot, followed by Brandon Dosch and Ryan Nyquist.

Ryan Nyquist just killed it in Dirt Prelims, coming out on top of the pack that moves into tonight's finals. Brandon Dosch is keeping himself busy, by making it to Dirt finals in addition to Park tomorrow. The nine moving to the Finals in an hour are:

Out of a field of 21 BMX riders, Mykely Larrin won the BMX park competition Saturday at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour’s stop in Milwaukee, Wis. to advance to the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals.
Twenty one-year-old Larrin from Racine, Wis. earned the BMX park victory at 4 Seasons Skatepark on Saturday after landing a double tailwhip and a backflip during his winning run. Corey Ellis was second and Nick Baner finished in third place. 

Remember the time when there were 5 BMX events going on in Europe in the summer? You had to travel from Germany to Holland to England and wherever the World's were that year. Things have changed and this weekend alone there was so much going on that you had to pick; riding concrete with Barry Kohne in Amsterdam, riding trails at Vladdie de Koning's B-day in Vlissingen or going to the Hellentrails jam in Goirle. We picked the last option as it was the closest and riding trails for a day always sounds good.

When you're just messing about a lot of fun can be had. The following photos came in from Kang who shot street rider Alexandre Valentino and flatland ruler Matthias Dandois on some flat terrain in Barcelona. They're showing eachother who's boss doing whoppers, barspins and such. At the end of the session Alex even picked up flatland and will be entering pro flat at the upcoming world's in Cologne. At night the session continued in the streets of Barcelona so expect some moves from Matthias in Pro Park as well.

On Friday I made a trip to Eindhoven for the opening of The Building, an Urban house that facilitates DJ-ing, graffiti, BMX, breakdancing, skateboarding, beatboxing and more lifestyles like that. There are a lot of people who do their own thing, but they need to have a place to do it. They live for it and spend every free minute doing it. It's not about making money, it's about feeling free and sharing the passion with others who think the same way. In the meantime crews like this can put a city on the map. With some help from the local council

For the bikeshow this pas weekend in Barcelona, a Vans Contest took place with some Vans Riders like Tobias Wicke, Senad Grosic and the french Crew (Alex Valentino, Kevin Kalkoff and Alex Bourguignon). Tobi won, Bjorn Mager took second and Alex Valentino took third place plus the best trick with his 3 handplant.
