The Urban Sports Week Amsterdam is taking place this week at the Museumplein in downtown Amsterdam. BMX activities are happening all week on flatland, park and street. Unfortunately the flatland contest earlier this week got rained out after it started to rain when 2 of the 20 riders had done their run. The split in prize money was good for some but how much better would it have been to have an actual contest. Am Park contests have taken place and the Soulcycle BMX Championships Round 3 qualification took place yesterday. 12 riders will enter the finals this afternoon and with riders like a.o. Jack Clark, Victor Munoz, Levi Weidmann, Sem Kok, Thomas Fuentes, Sam Jones and Cam Peake making finals we're about to witness some madness on the Park course. With Catfish and Sinki on the mic on a sunny day this can't go wrong. Check qualification results inside.

The Vans BMX Pro Cup made it to Stuttgart, Germany this past weekend. Paul and I flew in on Friday afternoon to catch the regional qualifier. The talent there was huge already and the 4-weeks old park in Waiblingen, near Stuttgart was treated with rubber marks all day. The highest placed riders could join the Pro Cup qualification round the next day. Madona (BRA) took top honours followed by Zdenda Pesek (CZE) and Jay Dalton (USA). The park in Waiblingen was turned into a small festival area with food trucks, merchandise stands, drinking area, grandstands to watch the contest from, judging tower with DJ and MC’s and a friends and family area with Vans sit sacks and beach chairs. The event promotion had done its job as the place was packed all weekend with BMX fans. It’s great to see
The world’s leading platform for elite BMX park terrain competition, the Vans BMX Pro Cup drew to a close yesterday (June 16) with the Men’s Final at the brand new Waiblingen BMX Park. Another energetic, 5,000 strong crowd made the finals an unforgettable one, it was Australia’s Jason Watts who deservedly took home the top spot. Watts outshone the rest of the field with a winning formula of technical tricks tied in with crowd pleasing big airs, the judges commented on his impressive back to back nose manual combinations. Winner of the first stage of the Vans BMX Pro Cup in Sydney, Spain’s Sergio Layos fought valiantly for second place, displaying consistency throughout the competition and surprising the judges by landing different tricks into the tombstone each run.
