It´s a wild mix this week. Duncan hasn´t been seen on a BMX bike much, Trevor ruled flatland for a while but has not shown up lately. Sigur shows up at Oldschool meetings only and Dyrenforth has not returned from his fruitboot trip. Mintovt will open a bottle of wine tonight and DeGroot turns 33 but still rips. Happy B-day!

If you want to promote a contest a good way to do this is to go to the local schools and put on some sort of demo. David Vazquez to a couple of riders to a school with over 2000 girls and they put on a little show to promote the Revolcon contest that was happening that weekend in Guadelajara. Senad Grosic and Tobias Wicke changed back into their riding gear (the wrestiling match was last week, they missed it) and put on a good show. This was the first of five REVOLCON contest series, it was packed by 2700 cheerfull spectators, 130 riders and a very sunny weekend of 30ºC /88ºF (Winter time in Mexico, ha!). It was a delight to have Senad Grosic and Tobias Wicke in Guadalajara, first time in Mexico for both guys, it seems that they had a good time, they got a little bit affected by the change of weather, Mexico's winter time is always sunny and nice to deal with.

The annual King of New York event was founded in the Bronx by Lou Perez in 1995. Lou ran the event every year until he handed over the reigns to me at baby bean Productions in 2006. With first Lou and now baby bean running the show, the event has gotten better and better, year after year. In addition to the amazing athletes and enthusiastic crowds at the heart of the King of New York event, a team of great sponsors helps elevate the King of New York to the kick-ass event that it is. Not long ago, baby bean invited clothing and sneaker giant DC Shoes to join the King of New York event family of sponsors. We thought DC Shoes would be a great fit (no pun intended) but unfortunately, DC Shoes completely ignored our invitation.

So it hit us like a ton of bricks when we learned that DC Shoes had stolen the “King of New York” name and concept for its own event. Adding insult to injury, DC Shoes suggested that the “King of New York” event was its own creation!

PlayStation and Woodward Camp announce the PlayStation Am Jam dates for 2008, providing amateur skateboard and BMX athletes an opportunity to compete for $5,000.00 and other valuable prizes.
