PlayStation and Woodward Camp announce the PlayStation Am Jam dates for 2008, providing amateur skateboard and BMX athletes an opportunity to compete for $5,000.00 and other valuable prizes. The competition, which features events in skateboarding and freestyle BMX biking, is open to kids from 7 to 18 years of age. Winners receive PlayStation® products and the top athlete in each sport wins a free week at Woodward Camp in Pennsylvania (travel expenses paid by PlayStation®) and the opportunity to compete in the finals for a grand prize.

The 2008 PlayStation® AmJam Tour stops at fourteen cities across the U.S. between March and May. Winners from each stop are flown to Woodward Camp in Woodward, Pennsylvania, in August to compete in a final contest to award the top skateboarder and BMXer with a $5,000 grand prize and a free summer at any Woodward camp.

“
This is the fifth year that PlayStation® has worked with Woodward to support such a tour,” said
Gary Ream, president and owner of Woodward Camps. “
The talent that we see each year is terrific and getting better all the time. Many of the competitors have gone on to become professionals in their sport. It’s a great opportunity for kids to get together, enjoy a great day of riding and skating, and be able to cheer on their friends.”
The skateboard street event is divided into two age groups: 13 and under and 14 and older. There is also an open division skateboard vert event. The BMX event has one open division. Registration is available the day of the event at the park only. Every participant must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian that is present at the park.
