This is because the people who run the place only build for themselves, even though the place collects tax money and economic support from the city council to make it a place for everyone.
As you may understand, the place is run by skaters that have no interest in building even one single ramp that's suitable for BMX. And they don't listen to any of our requests and ideas either, even though they say they do...? As a matter of fact there are even local skaters that refuse to skate there because the place sucks so much.
To solve this problem Stockholm local Andreas Lindqvist, owner of Future Promotion together with Capital Athletics have built a bikepark. The ramps have all been designed with bikeriding in mind, but skaters and inliners are welcome too.
This is a big improvement for the scene during the winter and rainy days. The place opens on the 17:th of december and from then on this scene will be much healthier. The setup looks totally awesome and really makes use of the limited space (450 sq meters). And I know the builders have made a great job and built top quality ramps!
Anyone traveling through Stockholm looking for a place to ride should hook up with us locals and session the park. You're all welcome! Just drop us a line!
