And it was a day packed full of thrill and spills, as people of all ages and abilities tackled the virgin ramps to show off their skills on wheels. The crowds were treated to demos from the UK's top professional skaters and bmxers, who entertained onlookers with their gravity-defying stunts.
Russell Holbert, park designer for Maverick said, "We are delighted to have been involved with this project and Dorchester now has one of the top skate facilities in the UK. Seeing it so well received by the usergroup, council and locals today has been the icing on the cake."
There will be no time to rest and reflect as May Bank Holiday weekend will see Maverick opening another new skatepark in Glastonbury. Come along on Monday May 4th to join in the celebrations.
