Joby: July 2008
Who do you work with in the workshop on a daily basis? Joby: Paul, aka the russian cowboy, is the only other person with me in the shop but John, Mike, and Ryan are always around.
When you walk in the workshop, that smell, does it make you feel like home, or do you hate it? Joby: It stinks good.
What welding skills do you have? Could you weld aluminium too? Joby: All of them. And yes.
Raw 4130 cromoly tubes, how good does that feel? Joby: So hard!
What’s the hardest part about welding a frame together? Joby: Dry eyes
Do you prefer working on custom frames? Joby: Generally yes, unless I don't feel like thinking as much
Who is/was your master? Who taught you the welding skills? Joby: I don't have a 'master' but I was taught a lot at Boces in high school and then got better through experience. John Corts and Big Dave helped me refine my abilities for welding bikes though.
What are some of the other activities you're doing at FBM? Joby: Pretty much everything.
If someone wants to start welding BMX frames, what would be your advice? Joby: Learn to weld. Move to Taiwan.
Last words to finish this up? Joby: So call me maybe
