Hors Serie Matos # 6 has an extra report on the latest Backyard jam in Sheffield, England and the UCI BMX supercross of Frejus in racing. This Saturday the Ramp Rats Fall Classic is on the program. Mike Krnaich and his crew are inviting riders from Groms (beginners) to Super Groms (2 age groups) to Almost pros to REAL pros. The BMX industry and Transworld are better served by reinvesting these resources in the continued multi-media expansion of the largest and strongest brand in the sport, RIDE BMX, and RideBMX.com.

Who is Matt Pingel?
Matt: The whole story, Bart? Hmmm. These days it's a guy who still tries to be creative in all kinds of live. Be it job or photography, building bikes and parts or writing.

You were a strong part of the 'zine - scene in the eighties - nineties was that a right fit for you?
Matt: Most definitely. Zines, the xerox art, that whole era definitely had a foundation of my today's lifestyle. It was a time when no computers existed, the bmx scene fell apart, because the only medium, " Freestylin " magazine, faded away, Spike Jonze, a strong force behind it became a video artist. Andy Jenkins went into the Skateboarding biz, so the main people that made the worldwide Freestyle newspaper were gone.

Freedom is on the way up. Bigger pages, bigger photos and with 84 pages it's thick too. With the La Finca Spring 2007 catalog inside it's even thicker but we don't count that. I hope Benny Paulsen is on a photo contingency program somewhere as he gets the cover and a full page in the Contents section. Let's run through issue # 72 with you here. First it's the news section with a very unhappy Peter Fastinetti who can't fit the new sized Freedom mags in his mag holders because of the new size. That's a problem indeed for all those who like to save and collect their magazines. Video reviews on page 14-15. Brake tips on page 20-21 to answer all those questions at once. Today was a day filled with MX. First of all the weather has been getting shitty and I spent more time digging at the trails on Saturday than I got to ride. The rain last night didn't help either so off to the Stoppelcross in Boekel I went. Paul, Pieter Does, Harm van Brussel, Jurgen Meyer were out there representing BMX in the mud. After one heat it was time for home to watch the Red Bull Knock Out beach race live and now I'm watching the FMX show at the Bercy  SX while I type this. Last night one of the riders pulled a barspin flip on a modified bike. Go do your Youtube search for that one. 

Ride along with the crew on the 3rd installment of the Local Exposure Series. “The Southern Comfort Tour” shreds across Georgia and Florida’s finest skate parks: United, Hazard County, The Factory, Skate Park of Tampa, and Mesh. Featuring Allan Cooke, Mike Cleaveland, Gary Young, Ryan Guettler, Chris Doyle, Corey Martinez, Ryan “Biz” Jordan, Kenji Tsuruta, Special Guest Dave Mirra and the 2005 Local Exposure Champion Brandon Hoerres. And of course the tour would not be complete without our dynamic duo announcers – Catfish and Micah Kranz.

Local Exposure Tour is a voyage that sets out in search of unknown BMX talent. At the end of tour one fortunate local BMXer will be voted on by the crew to join the next tour. Our number one priority is to give local kids some much deserved coverage on an insane road trip with the sole purpose of having a good time!
