The women rode a different track at the second World Cup in Papendal than the men did. No box jump but still the same size first two doubles. These distances were no joke. No S-turn either for the girls but three jump/rhythm sections after the frist left hander before they arrived at the finish line. With this being the Olympic pre-trial, we checked in with a few girls to see what they thought about it. Amélie Despeaux was the first to answer back.

What did you hear about the track before you made it to Papendal?
Amélie: Heard the 1st line was crazy, and we (girls) should take line 5 to 8 as best gate. Plus the wind was strong over there

Did you try to find videos of it to see what it was like before you went to Holland?
Amélie: for sure I tried, I found a Joyce Seesing TT video, where she almost pumped everything.. 

Is it becoming common that BMX mags go out for free? Next to The Albion from the UK, Focalpoint BMX magazine from Australia is for free as well. Who's complaining? They've made it to issue number twenty four so it's fair to say that they know what they're doing. When they decided to use this photo on the cover, they made some T-shirts with the same print as well. If you fancy one of those, get in touch with the FP Aussies and check what the costs are on that one as they won't be sent out for free. But maybe they can throw in the magazine with the T-shirt if it is withing the postal weight limits, who knows.

It probably won't be too long before you can view the entire copy of Focalpoint online. Issue # 23 can be read page by page via their website and it will happen to their newest copy as well as soon as the mags have been distributed. The more people who read the mag, the better. The web is giving riders from outside of Australia the possibility to check it out without leaving the easy chair.

The first issue of The Albion was a great read. Can't wait till issue 2. But the wait isn't too long, the issue comes out tomorrow. Hopefully someone can bring a stack tot he FISE event in Montpellier. We're driving up there tomorrow and it would be good to have something to read on th 11 hour trip on the way back. Being in Austin, TX at the 2011 Texas Toast Jam has been an awesome experience. I got to see a close friend of mine and bring him to the Jam so he could watch his first live BMX competition.
