If you’ve ever seen the “Rob & Big” TV show on MTV, then you know that Big Black is a very, very big guy. He told us a while ago that he’s really into the whole old-school BMX scene. But his problem was that he couldn’t find a BMX bike that came anywhere close to fitting him. So being the cool guys that we are at SE Bikes, we built him a custom sized PK Ripper Looptail that would fit him like a glove. I went up to Rob’s house & gave it to him a little while ago & they filmed the whole deal for an episode of the “Rob & Big” TV show. I even went to a BMX track & rode with Rob & Big & their whole crew. 
A new contest series will take place in France this year. At the end of the competition the winner of the BMX series will drive home in a FIAT PANDA 4X4!!! Yes, a brand new one. Here are the contest dates:-23/24 February: Jam de Gregam

The Flatland is Unlimited Contest Series will kick off 2008 during the Toronto International Bike Show. Where else can you ride indoors in March in Toronto. You must register for the contest in order to ride inside with us all weekend. Pro rider Chase Gouin will be riding all weekend and showing us some great flatland demos. Come see Terry Adams defend his back to back titles from 2006 and 2007. Late at night or early morning, depending on the way you look at it, I met Aversion's Louis Mikolay at Pascha Pizza in Tallinn. I apologized for not getting his video reviewed on FATBMX but quite frankly, it wasn't the guy I had in mind. Aversion videos have appeared on FATBMX before and this is the latest clip featuring Alex Kennedy and Vince Mayne riding in the South of England where it's always warm and sunny (yeah right). 
Back in the day it was hard to communicate. Calling the USA cost you over 2 euros per minute, for a letter to make it to the USA and back you could count on a few weeks at least. Magazines arrived months after they were sent and those were the only way to view new tricks. You had to look at the photos and figure out yourself what the hell they were doing. Paul and I tried to balance a sideglide on the spot. Little did we know that the guy in the photo was actually rolling. You had to be creative at the time and whenever there was a contest, every rider had something new to show. When video camera's became affordable for some people, it started to get better. You could actually view what was done and rewind the trick to make sure you got it right. For the longest time the American NTSC system messed us (Europeans) up. TV's and video recorders could only handle the PAL system until a few years after that when both the TV and VCR could play both. That's when we could see what tricks the Americans were doing. The AST Dew Tour, the world’s premier season-long action sports tour, today announced its schedule for the 2008 season (June-October). In addition to returning to Portland, Ore. and Orlando for the fourth time, the Tour will stop in Baltimore, Cleveland and Salt Lake City for the second consecutive season.“We are very excited about returning to Portland and Orlando after three successful seasons, and are eager to bring the AST Dew Tour back to our newest host cities, Baltimore, Cleveland and Salt Lake City,” said Wade Martin, president of AST. “All five host cities have demonstrated great support of action sports and we know the fans will embrace the Tour in even greater numbers in 2008.”

Two rounds of the 2008 King Of Ground flatland contest series have been announced. The date of the third round in October in Tokyo needs to be confirmed.-Round1: Yokohama April 6th
-Round2: Ishikawa, Komatsu July 20th
-Round3: ROX3 super multi court, Asakusa, Tokyo October.
