Hurricane Group and the Union Cycliste Internationale announced today that they have signed a new collaboration agreement until 2028. Vans, the original action sports footwear and apparel brand, listened to the BMX community and enlisted insight from Vans team rider Dakota Roche to help build the Slip-On Pro BMX, the first-ever Vans Slip-On to offer Wafflecup BMX technology. Considered one of the hardest working BMX riders out there today, Dakota’s unrelenting drive for street riding has bolstered his professional career and garnered many accolades over the past ten years. In need of a shoe that stands up to his riding, Dak worked with Vans on the Slip-On BMX Pro, featuring a striking two-tone black and white colorway with a black outsole.
“The Slip-On Pro has been my go-to shoe for riding, skating and chilling for some time now. In my mind,

He was always linked to the practice of road cycling and MTB but his return to BMX was due to the hobby of his eldest teenaged son, when he one day bought him a 16“ bike, that was when David hallucinated about the great development BMX freestyle of today. This inspired him.
However, since there is always room for improvement, he saw this as an opportunity to develop, innovate

The impact of restrictions around the world is being felt by the BMX community as mass gatherings and events are being cancelled or suspended. The opportunity to get out on the tracks is limited, in some instances not available at all. The industry is being hit worldwide, not only for riders but also shops and businesses that rely on your being able to gear up and push those pedals. Whilst we all know what we cannot do, there are still ways in which you can quench your BMX thirst. The most obvious way is videos, watching online and maybe contributing to forums and discussions. There are also some other means by which you can get your BMX fix – games. We are not just talking video games here either, there is a range of activities that incorporate a love of BMX without having to grab a helmet and gloves.
This year was like no other, and due to COVID-19 restrictions like most sporting spaces, BMX local tracks closed this spring, giving USA BMX members no place to practice or race. To safely get members back on bikes and back to the tracks, USA BMX worked side-by-side with their 320 tracks to ensure members a safe return to the track. To assist tracks with sorting through local rules and regulations from multiple jurisdictions and authorities, the USA BMX team created tools to guide track operators step-by-step through this challenging process with "Ready to Race" guidelines, marketing, and educational resources. The launch of the safety tool kit was just the beginning of a new 2020 for USA BMX. The following months led to safely running 21 stops of the national series, launching a virtual amateur freestyle series ending with an in-person national championship, an extended partnership with Mongoose and USA BMX Foundation, and successfully closing the national championships at the Grand Nationals.
"The USA BMX team has a successful track record of running events, growing members, and pushing the

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is delighted to announce that an equal number of female and male cyclists will be taking part at the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The development was confirmed earlier today, when the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) met to discuss and approve the event programme for the Games. Gender equality is one of the objectives of the UCI’s Agenda 2022, the Federation’s roadmap for the development of our sport. A total of 514 athletes will take part in the cycling events at Paris 2024, with an equal split between women and men. A first in the Olympic history of our sport, this parity has been achieved thanks to changes made to the athlete quotas for cycling’s disciplines. Having already been achieved in mountain bike, BMX Racing and BMX Freestyle Park on the Tokyo 2020 programme, gender parity is now a reality for road and track cycling as well.
It should be pointed out that this significant development for our sport comes at a time when the number of athletes taking part in the Games is being reduced across different sports, in line with the recommendations of the IOC’s Olympic Agenda 2020. Cycling will thus have 14 fewer places at Paris 2024, a reduction that affects road and mountain bike. This moderate decrease will be partly offset by the allocation of one extra place for track cycling and six in BMX Freestyle Park, with the number of athletes competing in both the men’s and women’s freestyle events increasing from nine to 12.
With its two long-standing disciplines of road and track cycling having been joined by mountain bike
