If the current sanitary crisis impacts all the world sports events, its repercussions for the professional athletes who depend on it are even bigger. In addition to a 100% digital festival that will redistribute 150,000 euros Prize Money, FISE is initiating a massive fundraising campaign for the ones who have built its history. The aim of FISE has always been to help athletes to live their passion, and to support them to push the limits of their disciplines and their development. During this unprecedented period without physical events, it wanted to continue this process. The E-FISE already guarantees a 150,000 euros Prize Money, an amount greater than last year's bonuses for the Montpellier

With an abundance of caution and concern for the health and safety of the athletes and travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Harris County – Houston Sports Authority and UCI have mutually agreed to cancel the 2020 UCI BMX World Championships. The event was originally schedule for May 26-31 at Rockstar Energy Bike Park but was postponed because of the pandemic.
“We were looking forward to hosting the 2020 event, but the ongoing pandemic continues to present

Following extensive discussions with the event’s organising committee, the 2020 UCI BMX World Championships, which had been scheduled to take place in Houston (USA) on 26-31 May and which had previously been postponed, have unfortunately been cancelled at the request of the organisers.

This year for the first time ever FISE Montpellier goes fully digital. 7 Sports, 12 Disciplines and 46 Categories will feature in this unprecedented contest. Whether in BMX, Skateboard, Roller, Wakeboard, Parkour, Breaking or Scooter, the 2000+ athletes who usually attend the event, are instead invited to participate by submitting videos to the e-fise.com/montpellier web platform which has been specially developed for this experience.
Urban Sports communities are already familiar with video contests, however this is the first time ever that so many disciplines have been gathered together in a digital project of this scale. International federations such as UCI, World Skate, FIG and WDSF have confirmed their support and many public and
With communities and tracks across America slowly reopening, USA BMX is working hard to confirm our originally scheduled events for 2020. As you can imagine, this is no easy task. We continue to work daily to assist local tracks in reopening, and currently less than a third are operating at some capacity. We are also rescheduling postponed national series events while navigating ever evolving guidelines. In some cases we are going to the extreme measure of finding tracks not previously on the schedule that can host an event. With that being said, we know your questions center around the return of the pro series. Unfortunately, restarting the pro series at this time is an impossible task considering these unprecedented circumstances.
Here are the challenges:
-Host sites are slow to confirm their ability to host races as originally planned. So while we'd love to say the pro series events on the schedule will happen, we just don't know.
-International travel bans limit some of our usual pro participants.
-The financial commitment to offer standard pro purses runs counter to our current focus of bringing back our employees who remain furloughed.
-Our Pro Series sponsor GoPro has canceled their sponsorship for 2020 due to the COVID-19 crisis. This not only eliminates the GoPro Cup Series but negatively impacts our sponsorship forecast for 2020.
In an effort to provide USA BMX women pro riders more options to compete, we have implemented a
"It is with heavy hearts that we have to close our doors after eight great years due to unforeseen circumstances (COVID-19). The Kitchen was Brett Banassiewicz's dream and we are happy to have been able to share it with you all. This skatepark was more than just a place to ride and we can’t thank you all enough for the support over the years.
To celebrate everything The Kitchen has been to all of us, come join us for one last weekend of riding May 29-31. Let’s pack this place!"
The Australian Cycling Team is pleased to announce the Athlete Memberships across all disciplines for 2020/21. In BMX, three athletes - Natalya Diehm (BMX Freestyle) and Lauren Reynolds and Izaac Kennedy (BMX Race) will receive Individual Athlete Performance Support (IAPS) memberships. The trio joins reigning world champion Brandon Loupos, 2017 world champion Logan Martin, plus Saya Sakakibara and Anthony Dean.
Caroline Buchanan (BMX Race) has not been offered a new BMX IAPS membership, however, she will receive transitional support until August 2020. Kai Sakakibara (BMX Race) is receiving support as he continues recovery and rehabilitation following a racing accident in February.
“As we continue to prepare for the resumption of racing, and ultimately the Olympics and Paralympics in 2021, the confirmation of athlete memberships gives everyone a chance to continue to sharpen their focus on their preparation and individual progress and development,” said Simon Jones, Australian Cycling Team Performance Director. “I would like to thank those team members exiting the program for their commitment to their own personal development and to the Australian Cycling Team program as a whole. “Re-entry to the program for these athletes is possible. Sometimes, stepping back and taking time away from something can be a way to move forward if their ambition and desire remain.”
