I was in complete awe of the talent and passion on display, especially considering this all wasn't for a big prize purse or a substantial amount of Olympic qualifying points. I wanted to take this as an opportunity to share the spectacle, even if it's way different from my own riding. Two of the riders in this vid, Nick Bruce and Marcus Christopher, ended up making the US team as well, so congrats to them! In October 2023, I traveled to Woodward West to shoot an amateur park event organized by USA BMX. They also put on a professional event that I wasn't obligated to shoot, so I shot it for fun.
After doing a BMX 'zine for ten years (1987 - 1996) FATBMX made it on the internet. The year was 1998. Here to stay.
