We're very excited to announce our newest addition to the team, Lara Lessmann. Lara's bike control and flow made her a no brainer to rep Demolition and Volume. Hailing from Germany but recently making the move to Australia she met up with Brock Horneman to put this treat of a video together.
Enjoy & stay tuned for more!
Lara Lessmann joins the VANS Europe BMX Team as the first German female rider ever. Congratulations!
Many people know Lara Lessmann as a BMX Freestyle athlete in the German national squad and therefore she focuses mainly on training for international competitions and recently especially for the Olympic Games. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the therefore cancelled contests there were some changes and challenges for Lara this year. After the Simple Session in February there were no more international contests on the calendar and at the latest with the official postponement of the Tokyo Olympics, for which Lara was already qualified, it was clear that this year would bring a completely different character.
Zeit für einen neuen BMX How-to! Der Can-Can ist ein echter Trickklassiker und so etwas wie der Signaturemove von Lara Lessmann. Lara Lessmann got picked up by Red Bull Germany a few months ago. For a female freestyle rider representing Red Bull is a big deal. Lara is shooting for the Tokyo Olympics to represent Germany and got her first Olympic taste at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires where she picked up a Gold. See what makes Lara tick by checking her Last Call interview....

My 2017: Lara Lessmann
Hometown: Flensburg, Germany
Sponsors: Iriedaily, ridetsg
Do you remember the first BMX event you went to this year and how did it go?
Lara Lessmann: My first event this year might be Butcherjam which takes place in my hometown Flensburg. It's one of the biggest contests in Germany and the only one with a girls class. I've made 2nd place this year and had a super fun weekend together with all the ladies and my homies.
How many weekends/days were you away from home and at a BMX jam/contest or on tour?
Lara Lessmann: Well, I've graduated from secondary school at a Danish school and used my 6 weeks holiday to go to Berlin and ride a lot of BMX together with amazing people. We drove from Berlin to the Fise stop in Budapest, after Budapest I stayed one week longer in Berlin. I realized that I enjoy Berlin a lot and decided spontaneously to move to Berlin. I live in Berlin for 4 month now, I do my highschool and have a lot of time to ride BMX.
What was the best event you went to this year that gets your vote?
Lara Lessmann: There were many good events I visited this year. I love all German contests but I think Fise in Budapest was the best event cause of the good atmosphere and awesome people. It's always
