The day didn't start off all too bad in Bathurst with cloudy skies and moderate winds that didn't affect practice much. With the predicted weather conditions a decision was made to call it quits after Round 1 of Men and take the fastest times of each athlete to determine the results for Round 3 of the UCI BMX SX World Cup. Since Women had not raced yet, there will not be a result for Women for today's race in Bathurst. Better luck with the weather tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

UCI BMX SUPERCROSS WORLD CUP - 2020
My First World Cup in 2 Years! / Shepparton VLOG by Bodi Turner
Friday kicked off early with a press conference which had Sam Willoughby, Lauren Reynolds, Laura Smulders, Kai Sakakibara and Mariana Pajon talk about BMX racing to the local press in Bathurts, a small city three hours West of Sydney, Australia. The predicted rain showed up every now and then during practice and the announced wind made things challenging from the start at the massive BMX track in Bathurst. But with nothing on the line during practice, the riders took it easy in order to stay in one piece to see whatever the decision is that will be made tomorrow morning when the sun comes up. That sun might decide to stay behind the clouds all day as once again rain is on the schedule and more frightening; wind. But today is today, and tomorrow is tomorrow so whenever it is possible to make a start, the racing will happen even though it might be just to get a result in. FATBMX is present so we will inform you about the activities in Bathurst so make sure to check in.
For the moment it doesn't make any sense to show who did well during practice. Both 8 and 5 meter hills were used but no one did a full lap today on the downhill track that has three straights with double lines. It is possible that all racing will take place from the 5 meter hill and will take all three "easy" lines to get some racing in tomorrow. The live feed (on FATBMX) will also keep you posted so tune in for the latest from the UCI BMX SX World Cup.
Australia is in need for some serious rain after the bush fires, but it doesn't help with the planned UCI BMX SX World Cup in Bathurst this weekend.
The riders have all packed up and made their way to Bathurst for Round 3 of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup Tour 2020. First up Round 1 and Last Chance Qualifier.
Last week, I found myself reflecting on what an absolutely RAD team I have around me to help me live out my childhood dream each and every day. From people who help me get from A to B to race to others who help me train and push myself to the limits, and those who simply help me to organise myself in order to focus on being the best athlete I can be, I am truly grateful for each and every person who has chosen to back me.
The partners that choose get behind our team and equally, if not, more important, and 2019 was an exciting year! We welcomed Trek Bikes, Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain®, Ride Concepts and Michram into our extended family, renewed partnerships with Fasthouse, Boost Mobile, Bell, Maxxis, Rubik3, FIST, SRAM, ODI, Oakley, Fresh N’ Lean and Knobby, as well as being given an opportunity to work with the likes of Mercedes-Benz. I'd like to take this chance to send out a HUGE wave of appreciation for all of my amazing partners who are backing me in this VERY special year!
2020 is shaping up to be the BIGGEST year of my professional career to date and... I CANNOT WAIT!
The international off-road bike scene has much to look forward to in 2020 as the Velosolutions Pump Track at Saalfelden Leogang, Austria has been selected to stage the Red Bull UCI Pump Track World Championships in September. Adding to the excitement Pump Track will this year join forces with the UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Championships, promising an epic weekend of all things bike.
Red Bull and Velosolutions launched the Red Bull UCI Pump Track World Championships in 2018 and in 2019, the iconic rainbow stripes were handed out for the first time at the World Final in Switzerland - after joining cycling governing body, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) - to Payton Ridenour and

The rider with the Red Numberplate is the leader of the UCI BMX SX World Cup. There are two plates in total. One for Women. One for Men. After the first two rounds of the UCI BMX SX World Cup Connor Fields and Alise Willoughby will be bringing the leader plates to Bathurst for UCI BMX SX World Cup rounds 3 and 4 next weekend 8 - 9 February 2020. The racing will continue in the 10-round series but getting the lead and running that plate certainly means something. Congrats to the American duo on running the series.

As a Dutchman looking at the final results from Shepparton you won't catch me saying: "It ain't much if it ain't Dutch." I would say that it has been a while that no rider from the Netherlands made it to a UCI BMX SX World Cup final in Men or Women. Even Laura Smulders and Niek Kimmann did not go through. That doesn't mean that the racing in the finals wasn't good. It was just missing some of my favourite riders. See who did what in the race results below and watch the videos when they are finished. Racing in the Olympic year gets serious.
