Mat Hoffman will compete at the Suzuki BMXMasters The world’s best BMX rider ever will come to Cologne to join the Suzuki BMXMasters Hoffman’s last appearance in a BMX contest was at the 2002 X-Games. In 2006 Hoffman will once again be competing in a BMX contest. This reappearance on the contest scene will be at the Suzuki BMXMasters in Cologne! Also on the list are: Bram Verhallen, Mike Miller, Jurgen Funk, Ali B., Markus Braumann, Markus Hampl, Lowcash, Benny Paulsen, Mark Webb, Matt Parker, Michael Sommer, Timm Wiegmann, Bas Brouwer, Leroy Widdmann, Gareth WIlson, Ziegler and more. Important notes for 2006 BMX UCI World Championships in Sao Paulo, Brazil, July 28-31, 2006:

We first watched this video sitting on the couch with Robert de Wilde and Henrik Baltzersen. Watching any TV with the Wildman can be pretty chaotic. Afro Bob was the man in control with the remote in hand and fast forwarded to any race that he participated in and rewinded those races that he won. That's one way to watch Transit Race 6. The DVD has become pretty unique in the way that race footage is hard to come by. No more Crank TV these days to watch all the latest nationals on TV and Props hasn't used race footage for years. It's up to race enthusiast Colin Stiles to keep the ball rolling through Transit. If you race BMX and want to get better, buy this DVD. It's not a how-to but you are the man in control just like Robert de Wilde. You can follow your favorite pros with the remote in hand and learn from their moves.

Transit Race 6 has some old(ish) footage but where else are you going to find a good selection of USA nationals on one disc? Here's a rundown of races that got filmed by Stileman and his posse:

We haven't seen a FATBMX piece lately so those of you who actively participate in graffiti art, feel free to take your sketch book and start drawing. The actual spray-can piece is the ultimate goal whether it's at an illegal spot or not. We grabbed the camera to check on the latest art at the legal spot (Berenkuil) in Eindhoven, NL. You've always traveled a bunch, but now you've taken it to the next level. How many dyas have you spent on the road in let's say, the last 12 months?
Ryan: I would say at least six of the last 12 months I have been traveling. I recently moved from Pittsburgh, PA to Portland, OR and took a month to drive across the country. Also, in the fall I was gone for 3 straight months camping and riding. So that's 4 months in those two trips alone.

Okay, you do ride a bike, and are pretty good at it but we're gonna go into the travel hobby a bit here. What sort of tent do you have?

RIDEBMX is a monthly magazine. That means that pretty much every 4 weeks you can pick up this mag and get informed about the latest in BMX land. Their myspace site is already lacking. For the last couple of issues I  was able to pull down their contents list but the latest  issue they've got listed is the May issue. This means I've got to come up with shit myself for another review of another issue.  The July issue can be displayed by retailers until June 13th. That's another 6 weeks that you have to find this issue on the shelves at the newsstands.  Hmm,  what's in it?  The Up Front section has all the news from a couple of weeks ago. You probably already read it on FATBMX.  Chase Hawk is on Lotek while  JPR is still working on getting the Caste prototypes into production.  A couple of riders pick their favorite photo from previous RIDE BMX issues.  Jamie Bestwick  answers all your questions.  Rooftop talks about his i-pod just before he enters the Gumball ralley as Tony Hawk's co-driver. We've heard Elvis (SkinDaddy) was given a Porsche too to race the  yuppie race.  If that's the case,  we'll probably be able to give you a few backstage stories when the world race is over. 

Bicycle Business News (BBN)  showed up with its May 2006 issue. The mag is interesting in the fact that they go beyond the official press release. When the news is big, they grab the phone and dial up the president of the company to get the score. Cover stories are the sale of Seattle Bike Supply (SBS) to the Holland based Accell group and also the QBP "Frostbike" dealer show. There's news on Brad McDonald and Todd Toth leaving Transworld Media to start their own online gig. Also tips are given how a BMX bike is set up these days. Are you keeping up with the trends? Chris Moeller's guest editorial is always an interesting read whether you agree with him, or not. Specialized is a company that is often misinterpreted. 3 of their employees are trying to brush things up in an article on page 9.
