NEW YORK – September, 2005 – The Dew Action Sports Tour, the first-ever, season-long professional multi-sport tour in action sports, today announced the winner of the PlayStation® Trick of the Week Award from the Toyota Challenge. Voting began after competitions at the Dew Action Sports Tour’s Toyota Challenge ended Sunday, September 11. Fans were able to view video clips and vote online at www.dewactionsportstour.com until Sunday, September 11. Fans selected Ryan Guettler as the PlayStation Trick of the Week winner for the second consecutive event after he performed a front flip during BMX Dirt Finals. Even more spectacular is that Guettler came back from a hard fall in athlete introductions to win that very contest. Guettler leads the Dew Cup points standings in BMX Dirt and BMX Park. His front flip earned him the PlayStation Trick of the Week award after the Tour’s third stop, the Vans® Invitational, in Portland, Ore. this past August. “It’s amazing to win the Trick of the Week contest for the second time,â€? said Guettler. “Whoever is out there voting for me is super supportive and that’s the cool thing. I can’t thank them enough.â€?

Hello FATBMX visitor, Thanks for checking out the site. The updates have been keeping me busy so I use that excuse for the lack of editorials the last couple of months. It's been hard getting things done with one arm anyway. I was under the knife to have my shoulder fixed at the end of May and had my right arm in a sling at the following events: IBMXFF World's in Prague, Download Soulbowl in the UK, LG Munich, BMX Masters, LG Paris and the Rebel Jam. After that I started driving again and went to the 20 Jam, FISE, LG Barcelona, UCI World's in Paris. Then to the Garden of Vert, the FAT-JAM, Eurobike trade show and then I had great news from the doctor that I could slowly ride again. Dealing with the fact that I could not ride all summer wasn't actually that rough. It's the way it is and you have to deal with it.

A while ago Risto Kalmre sent us some Sahtel magazines. Risto is from Estonia and the magazine is in Estonian so don't count on me translating any of the text. Sahtel is a magazine that covers everything from art, snowboarding, skateboarding, BMX-ing and music. It's in full colour and 80 pages thick. If you've heard the name Risto before, that's because he organizes the annual Simple Session in Tallinn with a bunch of friends. Risto actually now lives in The Netherlands studying in Amsterdam while working on the layout of this mag and getting ready for another version of the Simpel Session this January. If you think the people in Estonia are behind, you've been fooled. They're ahead of the game and the layout of the magazine shows it. It's good material for other art directors to see what's hot at the moment. For them, the HIND 39,- will be a good investment, even if they can't read the text.

As you may or may not know but the legendary BMX park in Beenleigh australia is under threat of being torn down. This would totally suck to say the least for bmx in australia. Myself & many other riders have grown up riding there over the years...... Mackay, Guettler, Bohan, Dillewaard amoungst many others. Beenleigh can't be taken away!! Once again one of those risky covers. The biker on the cover is one square inch big and partially faded by the sun. I guess this works well in France anyway. Bling bling gold on the cover though. The Edito on the next page, written by Olivier Rosset, is a bit strange. Olivier claims that BMX at the Olympic Games was inevitable. Well Olivier, you do know more than I do as a member of the IBMXFF. Anyway, Olivier might have a big cristal ball in his living room. The programme has a cool flatland sequence (yup Flatland - France). The Agenda, news and chroniques follow before we get to the Matos part which has all kind of hardware products listed. Softgoods you can find on page 14 and you know that Paris is the fashion capital of the world so you better check out that page. The RID2Z contest (a girls contest) gets a report and so does L'Asso de Cambrai. Beou's bike gets inspected and employee of the month is Markus Hampl from Germany. Heard of Dirty450 before? It's Japanese and you can read all about it in the new issue of Cream.

Life's a Beach. The only thing missing on the cover is a BadBoy. Oh, maybe Josh Elkington is the bad boy, I need to see his biceps next time. The biceps of the postman got some training too on this round, the mag is 180 pages thick and damn heavy. Take 15 of them and start doing some exercises. #38 Aout/Septembre 2005. It's the TOUR issue with reports from the Roadfools tour, the Shitluck Mow-It tour and the Eastern Dragon tour (Hey Leigh, still worrking on that report?). The issue starts with Soulfood and then Wicke grinds up a rail to tailwhip off in the contents/sommaire page. This mag is in French so if you don't speak the language, all that's left is watch the photos. In the Blah/Blah section we can figure out that Kabal is on standbye, Gazoil is on SX, Poupou organizes BMX camps and tha the park in Rennes is about to get shut. Que Pasa with wethepeople and superstar? They're throwing in Spanish now? Damn. News and reviews on page 14. Contest reports on page 16 (4 of them on one page!) and more summer jams packed on page 18/19 (including the UCI Worlds, Festy Urban contest, Destroy Jam and Isbergues). At Soul they sure know how to use their space. Manu Massabova's bike gets tested and then it's off to the TUNING page. Eastern tour follows and then there's a city report on TOURS, a city in France (p.34). Roadfools 14 by Rob Dolecki starts on 46. Ends on 060 where the Shitluck tour starts.

Sometimes things just ball up. One of those things is the Empire DVD review right here. I first watched it on the way to the Rebel Jam at Dortmund Airport. We actually set it up well with 2 Germans, Paul and I watching the DVD before taking off. Just by watching it, it doesn't automatically translate your opinion into text for the website. Then I also needed a photo to go along with it, but where was the box? Anyway, it was time to sit down and do it all over again. Danny Hickerson has moved up the ranks lately and when he keeps whipping like he does in the Empire DVD, you'll be hearing of him more often. The Kink rider shows he can do more than whips. Favorite section of the DVD comes next with Chase Hawk. Boy does he have style (and he knows it). The flow and grace at the 9th street trails is unheard of, a treat to watch, again and again. Joel Moody and Jake Finley get a part each and so does Neil Harrington.
