Area 47 hosted the LCQ for the 2023 UCI Pump Track World Championships. The indoor pump track facility will welcome the qualified riders from all over the world on 18 November. The Last Chance Qualifier was the last opportunity to be part of the event in 10 days' time. It was a pretty stacked field of riders for the LCQ and a massive thanks to the riders that already secured their tickets to the UCI World Final for taking it easy today.
Tanguy GRANDJEAN and Kristína NOVÁKOVÁ took the win in their respective categories in solid form to line up on November 18th for the big showdown. Fastest times for the day belonged to UCI World Champ Christa von Niederhaeusern in 13.985 and Tristan Borel in 12.749 secs.

Paris, Texas Pump Track Qualifier: Thank you very much, USA! It is always such a pleasure to come to Paris. You can never beat that Texas hospitality
In the Men's category, current World no 2 Alec Bob and previous World Champ Tommy Zula chased each other down all day long, lap for lap with Alec eventually laying down his fastest and winning time of 21.924 in the final run. Alec already punched his ticket at the Chile Qualifier, which means Tommy secures his trip to the World Champs.
In the Women’s category, it was Carly Kane day, and it is sure good to have her back after her crash at the UCI World Champs last year in Chile, her fastest time of the day of 25.317 in the semis.
Christchurch hosted the New Zealand Qualifier today, or is it yesterday, with some fine riders lining up from Australia and New Zealand. In the Men's category @dan_butterworth721 of Rotorua had a big day taking home the first ever NZ Pump Track National Champs yesterday, but he couldn't quite make it a double, being caught up in the Aussie assault in today's race, to finish 3rd overall. All day until the final runs, it would be Aussie @jumpin_josh_1a setting the quickest times, beating his own lap record until the finals where he met fellow country man @ryangilchrist73 , on a hard tail mtb. Ryan would take the honors in a tight battle for the top spot, thereby locking in his 2nd trip to the World Finals.
Latvia! Thank you, Baldone, for a brilliant day of racing, massive support, and some pump track love. Along with the BTA Pump Track and Latvian Champs, it turned out to be a huge day with over 200 riders across the various disciplines and age categories. In the Women’s category, the current World no 3 Vineta Petersone made no mistakes in securing her ticket to the World Final in a cracking time of 14.662. After a difficult season for her so far on the injury front, it sure is good to see her on the top step of the podium again. 2nd place on the podium went to Kitija Dzelzīte.
