Old Skool Meet at U.S. Nationals/Roseville this Weekend Not all Vintage BMX collectors are able to attend the Rockford tradition – so now the West Coast has one of their own. The first (hopefully annual) Vintage Meet, Show & Swap will be held this coming weekend at ABA’s US National in Roseville, CA.. And word from the BMX collectors is that it’s going to be pretty incredible. Legendary collector Tim Cook, owner of one of the most pristine and expensive bike collections, has confirmed his appearance … and Nor Cal racing legends such as Cheri Elliott, John Crews, “Dizz” Hicks and Johnny “UBR” Valdez are set to make an appearance throughout the day. To top it all off, Oak Creek BMX and the ABA are holding the “CLASH OF THE DINOSAURS” Sidehack challenge. This past weekend, EIGHT hacks from the Modesto/Manteca area showed up for practice. With more hacks coming down from the Northwest – it looks like this will be the biggest Sidehack class since the 1982 So Cal hack series

Mario Markotic from Slovenia informed us about their events this summer. It shows you once again that BMX is worldwide and there are events organized in every corner of this planet. Mario informs that the parks are not super dialled and that there is no big purse available but you should go for the adventure, the experience and just to ride with a new group of riders.
If that sounds like that's something you're ready for, here are the dates, the places and the type of event (Dirt, Park and/or Race):

You've been involved with BMX since age three. How good has it been for you?
Stephen Murray: I just want to thank my parents for supporting me and getting me involved in BMX. Not only getting me involved but keeping me involved! You go through ups and downs as a young kid and are sure to get some bangs, bruises, cuts and other things that could quite easily shy you away from a sport like BMX. They have been there since day one. Through the highs and through the lows and I am still riding the same roller coaster they put me on 23 years ago! I don't know any different, BMX has always been a lifestyle for me and I have never took a break and gave it up for a while, like you would with other hobbies as a kid. BMX is my life and has given me more than I could ever have dreamed of. Thanks!
How hard was it (paper work) to move from England to the USA?
Stephen Murray: It is a whole bunch of bulls**t. Getting into the USA is definitely a mission. I mean immigration just don't make sense to me you know!
Finding a job in the BMX industry is dream come true for most people. It just happened to Chris Raceles who is hired as the BMX product manager over at Haro Bikes. We sent a few questions to Chris to see what his plans are. One of them is riding loads. He might be disappointed that that usually doesn't happen. Anyway, here's Chris. Name: Chris Raceles Age: 34 Hometown: Originally from Orange County (Anaheim/Garden Grove) CA. I’m now residing in Temecula, CA.

The content list of the May issue of BMX Plus! already gives you a good idea of what's in that specific issue. It's cool to see a European get the cover. Yup, that's Sergio Layos from Spain. The inside scoop has all kind of news and funny photos. The BMXperts answer letters and BMX Plus! readers who send in a decent drawing have a good chance that their art will make it in the mail bag section. The parting shot is a sequence of Felt's Scotty Cranmer doing a double whip to tire tap. What's in between the cover and the last shot is in this list:
28 Redline Triple X 36 Haro SR Race 66 Failure Frame Test
We like crazy cover shots. Issue 51 of DIG comes through with a jump through a ring. A ring of FIRE would have been better but still respect to Anthony Villani for clearing it. Dave Osato would have had problems fitting that ring. Sometimes it's better to be small. The cover paper has a matt finish which is different and pretty cool. Oh yeah, the content. Here's the list:
THE USUALS: -Dig This (News, Survival Tactics, Ross Teperek Art Fags, Liquor Bikes Company Policy, Owain Clegg in Mongolia, Mark Choquette 321, Danny Hickerson Cell Outs) -Videostore (Interview with Shook's Chad Shackelford, reviews) -Flat Earth Society (Dane Beardsley) -Disposable (James Newrick, Adam Baker, Derrick Girard) -Unsound (Chris Leo/Vague Angels, Limpwrist, reviews) -Backchat (Sean Burns)
