Tom Öhler created a sensation at the Gugl Games in Linz, Austria. The Austrian set a trialbiking world record in the 400 metre hurdles with a time of 44.62 seconds. He raced on two wheels against the two legs of Felix Sanchez (DOM), the reigning Olympic champion at the distance. In the end Öhler did not just leave the Olympic winner trailing, smashing the world record at 400 metre hurdles (46.78 seconds). My name is Alise Post, and I started BMX Racing when I was 6 years old in Minnesota. My older brother started about 2 weeks before me, and saw other little girls at the track and talked my parents into dragging me along to try it out and toughen his little sis up before she got into anything too girly he couldn't enjoy with me ;) When I first tried though, I was too scared. I walked up to the starting gate and decided the hill was too big and I was not about to race down it. So, my parents nearly pulled the plug and got my membership money

For the second year in a row the Red Bull R.Evolution took place in Berlin, Germany. The Mellowpark hosted the event once again. Last year before the event the racers were kind of sceptical on the race as it involved ramps and big jumps, but after last year's success, the 2013 participants were looking forward to the R.Evolution a lot. When pictures started showing up on the internet people had a hard time figuring out what the track was going to look like. At one point, after the huge step up jump, the track split up and it involved some wooden rollers on top of a bridge in both lanes.

The 2013 edition of Red Bull R.Evolution, the most innovative BMX Race event of the year, took centre stage at Mellowpark in Berlin. In the hotly contested final it was Connor Fields (USA) who took top honours with Renato Rezende (BRA) and Vincent Pelluard (FRA) coming in second and third. Desmond Tessemaker (NED) left the crowd deeply impressed with his spectacular tricks and was crowned 55DSL Rebel of the Day. The race track, which was packed with dramatic obstacles, had been specifically re-designed with this event in mind and will serve as a venue for one of next year’s official UCI Supercross
