Britain’s most promising BMX riders will benefit from the re-establishment of British Cycling's residential BMX Olympic Academy Programme which will open its doors in early December. The first intake of riders will be named in due course following a recent selection event. The re-introduction of the Academy Programme comes shortly after the opening of the £24 million National Indoor BMX Centre in Manchester. Dave Brailsford, Performance Director of British Cycling, said:
The American Bicycle Association (ABA) will conclude its 32 race National Series for BMX Racing over Thanksgiving Weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma during the ABA Grand National. Riders from around the globe will converge at the Quicktrip Center in Tulsa for what has been dubbed The Greatest Race on Earth. Last year’s event saw over 3,000 entries from 15 different countries. When it comes to the Olympic sport of BMX Racing, Thanksgiving weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma is the place to be!

Surgery went okay and most of the pain is finally gone… It’s been 3 weeks since my crash in Geneva. The first week was very painful, because my wrist was not in the right position and my arm was very swollen. So I had to wait one week till surgery. Before surgery, doctors told me it could be a challenge to fix it. When I heard they put in 1 metal plate + 10 screws, it scared me, because I didn’t expect that much screws… But the fracture in my joint was very complicated, so it was necessary! I was hoping the pain would be less after surgery, but unfortunately it was even worse! I had to stay 2 more nights at the hospital.
