London Olympic hopefuls Sam Willoughby and Caroline Buchanan have produced world class performances at the 2011 BMX Australia National Championships, in front of a capacity crowd in Cairns. The pair were both crowned National Elite champions after a series of impressive rides on a frantic day of finals at the Cairns BMX Club. Over 3000 people crammed into the track to see the cream of Australia’s BMX High Performance riders and the emerging stars of the exciting addition to the Olympic program. And they weren’t disappointed as first 21-year-old Buchanan, from Tuggeranong

Sinz Elite is now offering two new external-bearing bottom brackets under the XXX brand name-the same name used for the hot, new, hollow-forged crankset. Both bottom brackets feature forged and CNC-machined external aluminum cups and are compatible with Sinz Elite XXX, Shimano DXR, XTR, and other 24-millimeter spindle cranksets and fit standard English thread (1.37" x 24T) 68- and 73-milimeter bottom bracket shells.
The Pro model bottom bracket comes in black or white and has the added bonus of precision tapered roller bearings. The super-durable bearings will provide longer bottom bracket life even under extreme use. The Expert model comes in red, blue, black and white and rolls on super-high-precision sealed bearings, but has a weight of 89 grams compared to 118 grams for the Pro. 

Last weekend we spent in Valkenswaard at the second round of the FIM MX world championships. Motocross is badass and it was good to see they're making a bigger and bigger show out of it. Monster Energy has taken over from RedBull as title sponsor and they've stepped in in a big way, just ask Coach. It was good to see the BMX crew out there. They saw Jeffrey Herlings and Tony Cairoli win their classes in the Dutch sand. Here's a collection of photos we managed to take during easter weekend.

Queensland riders have dominated the third day of competition at the 2011 BMX Australian National Championships in Cairns today. The Sunshine State gave local fans plenty to cheer about, taking out 12 of the 22 age group finals contested in a frantic day’s racing in perfect Far North Queensland conditions.
