X Games Munich 2013 in June will include an array of top musical performers as a part of X Games Music Presents, the new special concert series accompanying the X Games global expansion events, kicking off with American rapper and musician Macklemore and producer Ryan Lewis, supported by Germany’s rap wunderkinder Die Orsons atop the Red Bull Tourbus. As part of X Games Music, several other local musical performers, including hip hop artist Demograffics, Manual Kant and Claire, will perform during the four days of the inaugural X Games Munich competition, June 27 – 30.

While performances from top artists have often been part of the X Games experience, 2013 marked the debut of X Games Music showcasing world-class musicians and highlighting the artistic and cultural elements inherent in the action sports lifestyle and each of the X host cities.

We are excited to announce after a seven year hiatus that the King of Concrete is back! The annual August Bank Holiday weekend BMX event returns to Southsea Skatepark! Mark your calendars, August 23-25th. King of Concrete is a weekend event that caters for almost all different types of riding, we have the legendary Bowls, Spine Mini, Flatland, Vert, Park, and a Highest Bunnyhop competition.

We are shooting for £2000 prize money purse for this year! 

Alli Sports, a division of the NBC Sports Group, today announced the competition schedule and top confirmed athletes for the Dew Tour Beach Championships in Ocean City, Md., June 20-23. Fans will be inspired by the four-day action sports celebration whether tuning in through broadcast, online, or at the free events throughout the weekend. The best in skateboarding and BMX will converge on the beach to compete in Skate and BMX Vert, Skate Bowl (Pro and Legends divisions), BMX Park, BMX Flatland, Surf and new Skate and BMX “Battle at the Beach” Street Sessions. Scotty Cranmer, hailing from Jackson, New Jersey, will compete in BMX Park along with Kyle Baldock. In addition, Steve McCann attempts to take the BMX Vert win away from living legend Jamie Bestwick.

Mongoose is thrilled to announce BMXer Kevin Peraza as the newest member of the Mongoose professional team. The young athlete’s technical tricks and effortless style have helped establish him as a top competitor in all disciplines of BMX. Peraza will be joining a world-class team of BMX riders representing Mongoose, including Steve McCann, Ben Wallace, Cam White, Jack Fahey, Paul Ryan and Greg Illingworth. “I'm super excited to be riding for a brand with such deep rooted heritage in BMX,” says Peraza. “My dad rode, and still rides, BMX and growing up as kid Mongoose was there from the start. I'm excited to ride for a brand that has played such a huge a part in BMX history.”

This year, Peraza blew away the competition at Simple Session Estonia, landing the first ever 540 opposite double downside whip. Ever since, all eyes have been fixed on the young star as he prepares for major contests across the globe including the 2013 Redbull Dirt Conquers and the 2013 Dew Tour Beach Championships. Peraza recently took third place in spine and park at Fise Montpellier.

Jamie Bestwick’s domination continued today as he took the gold medal once again in BMX Vert at X Games Barcelona 2013. It’s an incredible eighth-straight gold in the event, an X Games record. His Monster Energy teammate Vince Byron took the bronze, making for two Monster Energy riders on the podium. Since he began competing at X in 1996, Bestwick has been a force to be reckoned with on the vert ramp. He took his first gold in 2000 and began his dominant winning streak in 2007, winning every event since them. He’s won more consecutive gold medals than anyone in X Games history.

His tricks and runs today were trademark huge, high, and smooth—they included opposite turndown flairs, stylish fastplant flairs, big downside tailwhips, and his seatgrab 540 nac nac.

“To win eight in a row is a true testament to how much I like riding my bike for the fans around the world. You just can’t stop me from riding,” said Bestwick afterwards.
