Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Kick Off Music Performances at X Games Munich 2013 Demograffics, Manual Kant and Claire also to Perform at Inaugural X Games Munich

X Games Munich 2013 in June will include an array of top musical performers as a part of X Games Music Presents, the new special concert series accompanying the X Games global expansion events, kicking off with American rapper and musician Macklemore and producer Ryan Lewis, supported by Germany’s rap wunderkinder Die Orsons atop the Red Bull Tourbus. As part of X Games Music, several other local musical performers, including hip hop artist Demograffics, Manual Kant and Claire, will perform during the four days of the inaugural X Games Munich competition, June 27 – 30. While performances from top artists have often been part of the X Games experience, 2013 marked the debut of X Games Music showcasing world-class musicians and highlighting the artistic and cultural elements inherent in the action sports lifestyle and each of the X host cities.
X Games, in partnership with Red Bull, will kick off the Music Presents series at X Games Munich with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, a duo from Seattle, Washington, who have emerged as a premier national hip-hop group known for their electrifying live shows, expertly crafted music, and innovative music videos and media. Most recently, they have broken new ground by independently releasing their debut full-length album, The Heist, which shot into the top spot on iTunes and debuted at number two on the Billboard charts without the support of a traditional record label. Their single Thrift Shop has reached the top on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (4x Platinum), with help from a wildly popular music video (100 million+ views on YouTube) on heavy rotation on BET and MTV. While on their 70-city, completely sold-out world tour supporting The Heist, they garnered attention in Rolling Stone, Billboard, NPR, TIME and GQ, with live performances on VH1, MTV, The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and Saturday Night Live.
X Games Music Presents: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will take place at the Olympiastadion, Nordeingang, while all other X Games Music performances will be held in X Fest at the Olympic Park venue. All X Games Music performances will be streamed live to www.XGames.com at the following times (all times in local CET):
