I went up to Adrenaline Alley Skatepark in Corby, Northamptonshire (UK) on the first weekend off December to MC the grand opening of their new Vert & Resi ramp. Shaun Scarfe & his gang of merry men built the ramp over the course of the past few months & is set in a brand new building. Finished in perfect Finnish Birch ply, standing 14ft tall & 75ft wide (inc resi) & housed in a purpose built £150,000gbp (approx $300,000usd?) warehouse alongside the original excisting skatepark, this is the biggest & first of its kind in Europe.

Less than a year ago Chris Harburn decided to open Giba Gorge which is a MTB park in South Africa. Wanting to cater for more bike disciplines he decided to throw in a bmx race track and some freestyle jumps. To get the ball rolling Chris gave local rider Colin Loudon free reign to build the jumps with a payloader. A trail rider himself for many years Colin was a good choice of builder and these jumps are really clean. I gave the race track a test run in the morning. I have never raced in my life but the track is a lot of fun and littered

Bulls BMX, bike sponsor of Mark Webb, have launched a new website which shows their full 2008 bike line. The new line has been reengineered and features up to date geometry and high class quality. The line includes a 14" Rookie bike, a nice step in between the exisiting 12"and 16". It also includes a new 24" cruiser.

When going to a big contest you usually don't get to see more than the hotel(bar), the venue and the airport. But when the contest is held in a place called Dubai, you simply have to find the time to see more of the city. There was no hotel bar so that helped with getting up early to go snorkling, go shopping, indoor snowboarding, dune bashing or scope landscaping for street spots. We collected some shots here.

Fly has got a new seat out and a new seatpost to match. The slim seat has padding where needed and comes with aluminium bumbers (available in different colours). The 8 mm crmo rails are hollow so still light. You can take them off to fix them if they bend. The leather on the sides is less grippy so you won't catch your pants. The Fly seat goes well with the new seatpost which has a simple design with just one bolt. If you've struggled with seat gussets before

As with the majority of professional sports, the money earned is all-too-often not enough to make ends meet, let alone pay for something as expensive as medical bills. Professional BMX racer Joey Bradford has seen far too many fellow riders and industry professionals become engulfed in insurmountable medical bills stemming from injury or illness. For this reason, in early 2007, the then 17-year old racer took it upon himself to do something about it. With help from his family and key industry veterans, Bradford conceptualized and developed the Joey Bradford Disability Fund.

RIDEBMX (USA) has undergone some big changes. It's hard to miss the new paper, new size and also the lay-out has changed. It was actually time for America's main mag to change things up. Being on cruise control only works for so long. The January issue that we picked up at Paul's Boutique counts 140 pages. You can count 24 pages in for a Free Agent catalog which makes the mag thicker than it really is.
