The Hookit Index is the first ever tool that allows athletes, fans, brands and the industry to track athletes' exposure and influence across the constantly changing and complex world of digital media.
What we track
We track and collect real-time social engagement metrics, such as followers, likes, comments, mentions and retweets on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Hookit. Athletes are given a point for every social interaction and we update athletes' scores every hour. Currently, Hookit Index scores are calculated solely from athletes' actual fan engagements and not from the overall size of athletes' fan followings or impressions generated.
What we publish
Currently, we only make public the monthly rankings to highlight the top 100 overall athletes and rankings for each sport here on Hookit. We have partnerships with top media properties to help promote the athletes scores and drive additional fan engagement. The Hookit Index is evolving and growing every day to grow the number of athletes we index and platforms we track.
Why we do it
Mobile devices, tablets and computers are the go to devices for athletes to engage their fan bases and build their personal brand. Since 2001, our mission has been simple: from Am to Pro, we are here to Support the Athletes. We introduced the Hookit Index to allow pro athletes to track their digital exposure, quantify their value to sponsor and a tool to build their personal brand.
Get in touch
We want athletes, brands, media, agencies, pr managers and team managers to get involved as we expand the capabilities. We offer real-time dashboards to select partners, such as ESPN, Street League Skateboarding as well as brands and athletes to monitor deeper stats and information on athletes' social activity up to the hour.
