Chris Harrison fills us in on Federal's plans at Interbike. Join them for a greasy breakfast, hot tea, biscuits, or a pint at the bar.
-Have you decided to be part of the BMX zone this year and why? We will indeed be part of the BMX “zone” as per usual. We’ll be based on the Tip Plus stand, #5149, so come by to say hi and check out what’s up. I think it’s important that all the BMX companies are grouped together as it shows a solidarity within the industry to the other forms of cycling that are at the show and also gives the event a

far more social feel with everyone hanging out in close proximity.
-What new products are you bringing to Las Vegas that people need to check out? We’ll have our complete range of products for Winter 08 which have just come out as well as a few treats for next year including new grips, frames, clothing etc
-Any special activities going on at the booth during the show? As I’ll be travelling as part of the Seventies contingent we’ll have the Brighton Ain’t Ready DVD with us, so if you’re lucky you may be able to catch a viewing! I think the Tip guys have some fancy new online dealer system being debuted too so that should be worth looking at.
-How many people are going to help out in your booth during the show? From Seventies/Federal there’ll be
Stu Dawkins (Owner of Seventies and Federal) and
Colin White (Seventies Head Sales guy) and myself. As we’re on the Tip booth we’ll also get a lot of help from those guys which we’re extremely grateful for!
-Are you actually taking orders at the show or is it more to show products to the dealers and get contacts? Just planning to talk to dealers and anyone else who is interested in what we do. We haven’t got any strict plans or appointment only slots so feel free to come by and say hi. The more the merrier!
-Are any of your riders coming to Interbike? Rumour has it
Davey and
Lacey might be making an appearance but who knows!
-Would you think a contest at Interbike would be a good idea since loads of people (industry/riders/media) are there already? I guess it could be cool if it was done right, so like the Backyard Jam as opposed to the X Games. A competition could only serve to detract from the products being shown off so that might not be a good thing.
-What party are you looking forward to? People party in Vegas?????
-What would make the 2008 edition of Interbike a success for you? Meet lots of new people, catch up with friends, see people show an interest in what we’re doing with Federal, have the best looking business card and leave with my liver and wallet in one piece!
