If yes, where can people find your booth?
We're in the BMX section. Booth #5357
Why in the BMX zone?
The BMX zone is where it's at. We're a BMX only company, so it only makes sense to be there.
In general, what are the tough things to battle when developing new products?
Timing is critical. We really have to be on top of what's new before it even happens.
Do you fancy going to Taiwan to follow up on the development process and to negotiate pricing?
I like being over there for visits to the factories and to see friends. I lived there last year and it was a little much being there for months on end. Taiwan can really wear you out.
Who are some of the riders that give good feedback on the products that make your life easier?
Kevin Kiraly has awesome feedback. He'll notice things down to the last millimeter. It's great to have such specific feedback like that.
Do you have secret product testers out there or do the team riders take care of that?
Dave Thompson is our main product tester. He is hands down the toughest on parts. If a part will hold up for a couple months with Dave riding it, then it will last the average rider forever.
Big tires, big bars, slammed seats, small gearing and lightweight. What's next?
More affordable
How hard is it to come up with a colour for your products?
Not too hard. Picking color ways is my favorite thing to do when it comes to making bikes. It pretty much defines our brand.
Are you scared of the mandatory paint/colour testing or do you not worry about that yet?
Nope, We've had that under control since all of this mess started.
How important is pricepoint for your products?
Extremely important.
Can you explain how hard it is to put an original idea into a final product?
Just coming up with the idea is the hardest part. Once you decide what you want, then it's just a matter of making it happen. Choosing the right factory to work with is another key factor. If you pick the wrong factory, you could have problems for the entire development process.
What is a 2010 product you designed that you are most proud of?
I'd say our entire line of completes. I'm psyched on all of them.
What's the worst design in BMX at the moment?
Overdone complete bikes. Just because you can paint a part purple, doesn't mean you have to.
What do you think is a clever product?
Pivotals
Why do people need to look into your brand?
For one, we're a rider owned company. BMXers should support other BMXers. Other than that, we offer a straight forward, high quality product at a good price.
