The UCI would like to thank the event’s organisers for their cooperation in this difficult situation, as well as the athletes, National Federations and all concerned parties for their understanding.

Here’s to ending a heavy year with bang! Monster Energy congratulates BMX team rider Felix Prangenberg on releasing the innovative ‘URGE’ video on the Monster Energy YouTube channel. In an encore performance finishing a breakout 2021 season, the 23-year-old X Games gold medalist from Cologne, Germany, pushes the boundaries of freestyle BMX at genuine street spots. Produced by Monster Energy with filming and editing by David Schaller, ‘URGE’ captures Prangenberg at street spots across Europe over the course of 2021. Filmed in stunning high-definition video with artful 16mm film montages, the release marks Prangenberg’s first official Monster Energy video part since joining the pro athlete roster in early 2021.
‘URGE’ shows some of the most creative and progressive riding courtesy of the rising star who dreamt of becoming a BMX pro since the age of 6. Respected for one of the strongest work ethics in BMX, Prangenberg puts his signature combinations of technical and burly tricks on full display. Expect gnarly handrails, impossible gap transfers, technical spins and manuals, plus never-been-done combos at some of the BMX world’s most iconic street locations.
The new ‘URGE’ video segment completes a milestone-heavy year for Prangenberg. Recognized as a pacesetter of progressive BMX street riding, the German BMX pro joined the Monster Energy BMX team in April 2021 and proceeded to up the ante with contest podiums and acclaimed video parts, plus a constant barrage of face-melting Instagram clips.
2021 wasn't the easiest year and it doesn't look like we're back to normal come January 1st. Making the most of life during the pandemic is what we need to do. We have bent some rules to keep going and we'll continue to find a way so we can do what we love most. Looking back at 2021 it actually wasn't such a bad year (event-wise) but they were just not ran the way we want to. No crowds allowed, wearing masks, staying 6 feet apart, testing, testing and more testing, vaccinations, disifecting the hands...... it has been a mess. Just getting a beer at the bar with your friends seems like ages ago. Here's to better times in 2022. Keep doing what you love most. We'll see you at the next occasion.

P.S. This is the annual Happy Holidays post where we collect the best BMX inspired X-mas cards. Got one? Send it in, we'll post it up. Cheers.
Hiroya Morizaki just started a new bike brand, Crown. He introduces the new sample that just arrived: "The first frame is based on Delta, which I used to design for Quamen Bikes, a California-based BMX frame company back in 2005, and improved the design suitable for the modern flatland needs." Hiro continues: "The fork is initially designed for the Garuda frame of Aresbikes but pursing as small a clearance as possible and shortens the length of the fork for the best possible usability at doing various types of tricks, front and back tricks, rolling, and spinning."
Every detail of geometries results from numerous tries and errors over two years. Hiro will keep testing until the release, although the production schedule is still up in the air due to the COVID situation. Stay tuned!

It might have been delayed by a year, but Tokyo 2020 was worth the wait for Swiss Freestyle BMX star Nikita Ducarroz who took a stunning bronze medal. She followed that up by taking the European Championship title in Moscow in November and now finishes the year with RASOULUTION, her new management. Signing with the Munich based sports marketing agency, which has a long history in managing cyclists, was a logical step for North Carolina based Nikita, who has followed the agency and its riders for some time.
About joining the agency, Nikita said: “I’m so stoked to join RASOULUTION for 2022 and beyond! I’ve been following them for many years so it’s very exciting that this amazing crew now has my back.
It's here! The 2022 USABMX Freestyle Amateur National Championship schedule is confirmed. For 2022, we've added two events, both being new locations in Longview Texas and Newberg Oregon. We're pretty happy about this schedule and are looking forward to getting it all started on January 28th in Tucson.
Please note, we will be adding 5 digital competitions to the schedule in the next few days. Like in 2021, not all scores will count towards the overall National Age Group Ranking. More on this soon. We were excited about confirming the National schedule and wanted to get this to everyone asap so travel arrangements could be made.
