We are very pleased to announce to you the birth of the BMX Flatland World Circuit. The Circuit will cover three of the best flatland contest in the 07 season: KOG Round 1, Voodoo Jam and Flatground. At each event riders in the pro class can earn points and this will eventually result in a year-end winner. Goal of this circuit is to promote flatland in general so hopefully many flatlanders could gain from this incentive. Freecaster, Global-Flat & Youth In Control have already committed supporting the circuit in year 1, which means we get good and fast coverage of all three events.

This extreme sport, born in California during the 70’s(?) , will be Olympic in Beijing 2008. Madrid will held on April 13th and 14th, the first round of the BMX Supercross World Cup, an exciting competition that has never been celebrated in Spain. The visitors will enjoy themselves not only with the competition but also with Flatland (tricks on the land) and Dirt Jump (freestyle jumps) exhibitions. EXCITING COMPETITION: Some of the most famous riders in the world are coming to Madrid. Robert de Wilde (The Netherlands), Michal Prokop (Czech Republic), Mike Day (U.S.), Bubba Harris (U.S.), Donny Robinson (U.S.), Kyle Bennet (U.S.), Javier Colombo (Argentina) are very well known by all BMX lovers. All of them will compete in each jump and curve of the 400 meter course to be the winner of Madrid’s spectacular contest.

The Spanish fans will show all their support to the local riders, specially to Pablo Galán and Rafa Álvarez. 

Extremething is held in Las Vegas each year: bands , wrestling, AM comp, loads of unhappy looking kids wearing black and Ricardo Laguna's dirt comp. This is the fourth year the dirt comp has been held and the airline making me miss my flight wasn't going to stop me from being there.

Event winner Corey Bohan was more dialled than any sex chat hotline in Vegas. Throwing down moves like a bar spin to tailwhip looks like you are watching a video game. Bohan walked away with $10 000 doing what he does best.

As the finals kicked off Josh Holt's first run looked great with him throwing something in on each jump. Many of the new generation of dirt riders were there and killing it: TJ Ellis, Mike "Hucker" Clark, Thomas Hancock, James Foster, Radio, Mike Saavedra and Dennis Enerson. 

The first Motocross Grand Prix of the 2007 season took place in Valkenswaard, The Netherlands yesterday. Due to the sunny weather over 15.000 people showed up to watch the racing in the MX1 and MX2 classes. A new season means new bikes, new outfits, new teams, new pits set-ups and new goals for every rider. With the absence of Stefan Everts, the MX1 class is pretty open. Stefan won it the last 6 years in a row or something but he's now the KTM team manager and helping the factory riders to win their first title. 

With $1000 for first place up for grabs Atascadero bike and skate park kicked off their first ever competition. After being open for bikes since December 22nd , Atascadero bike and skate park held their first ever compeition on the 24th of March. Local riders Ted and Danny took the area behind the already established indoor skate park and built a bmx street course. These are a dedicated bunch of guys and were still finishing off the park till 10pm the night before the comp.

MONTEREY, Calif. BMX racing will make a much-anticipated comeback to the Sea Otter Classic, A Celebration of Sport, during the weekend of April 14-15. Produced through a partnership with Golden State BMX, Sea Otter's BMX event will be a California State Series qualifier to help racers in their quest for a berth on the state team. While it's been a few years since BMX racing has graced the Sea Otter Classic, the addition of BMX racing to the Olympics has given the sport a shot in the arm through its elevated status in the competitive global arena. 

To kick off the outdoor season it is a good choice to pick the Mini-FAT-JAM in Aarle-Rixtel. I seems like the weather is always cooperating and again it was possible to ride in just a T-shirt. Global warming; bring it on! A van from Berlin and a van from Belgium made the dirt session an international event. Riders from all over Holland came over for the jam and also Olympic speed skate champion Gianni Romme showed up to watch. Word on the street is that he bought Mirko Bena's old HARO F3 and came over to watch the tricks. He enjoyed the pulled tailwhips and with his work ethic who knows if he'll make it back with his BMX bike at the 20th FAT-JAM in August. Very welcome indeed.

As you can see in the photos, the Sugar Hills trails are very sandy. It handles the rain well but the jumps get destroyed pretty quickly. With spades around and riders willing to maintain the jumps in between the sessions it was still possible to get some tricks done, find some lines or simply pull a few sets of doubles in a row.

The Moora Cup took place last night. It was a sold out crowd with live bands and the Dutch BMX scene present. Votes came in through the Mooracup.com website and it was close in some categories while other Cups went to surprising winners. With internet voting you never know though. We've got the Moora Cup winners here on FATBMX so make sure to check who won what.

Finally there is BAVARIA right around the corner from me in Huntington Beach, CA!! It was about damn time these Americans learned to sell some real beer, not that piswater Coors Light or Bud....I know I'll probably get some drive by shootings after saying that, but there really isn't anything like a good cold Bavaria!!!!
