Surely, there's no need to explain the Burning Ink event anymore. The art show, which has already hit Paris, New York City, Berlin and London has become a unique event combining the worlds of illustration and tattoo. For its 5th edition, Burning Ink takes up residence in Madrid. The event will run from September 13th to 27th in the Spanish capital in partnership with ESTIGMA TATTOO. With the exhibition of designs and drawings taking place at THE WALL (Corredera Baja de San Pablo, 47) and the tattoos to be inked at ESTIGMA TATTOO (Valverde, 26), a street away from the gallery.
Once again, bringing together a unique selection of world-renowned street artists, graphic designers and illustrators, Burning Ink is a crossover event between the worlds of fine arts and tattoos.
The concept is as radical and unique as before: all the
handmade drawings designed by selected artists will be burnt at the end of the show. A very different concept to an ordinary art show, no one can go home with the art in hand. The only way for the drawings to survive the flames is to be bought and inked into the buyers’ skin, making each design live on as a unique tattoo.
