This year's LG Tour stop in Paris was way better than last year, the street course was a bit better and the Vert ramp was the same but the riders made it a better contest than last year. Street/Park: Although a very small street course it was still fun to ride, it was so tight that
Dave Dillewaard looked bigger than the park but managed to win the first price again. More riders showed up this time and we even had 5 Dutch guys in prelims,
Barry Kohne didn't impress the judges this time,
Mark Vos showed he is a good rider but not in contests,
Daniel Wedemeijer rode well and
Pim v/d Bos was the best from the Dutch with a 12th place, just missing the finals with his dialed Front & Back & Tail whips.
Chris Mahoney impressed me the most, I always like his style but in contests he is a different rider but not this time, non stop action for the whole minute and was rewarded with a third place! In a field with
Hennon, Martinez, Haugen this is a good result. For
Martinez this set up was not big enough to make speed and with a wallride missing it was obvious that he was looking for tricks.
Benny Korthaus brought his right bike (a 20 inch) and like Dilly he looked bigger than the park.
RESULTS PARK 1. Dave Dillewaard
2. Alessandro Barbero
3. Chris Mahoney
4. Ben Hennon
5. Corey Martinez
6. Tom Haugen
7. Koji Kraft
8. Benny Korthaus
9. Axel Jurgens
10. Markus Wilke
Vert:
The Vert class was big, with riders like
Eduardo Terreros and
Jean-Marie Baertsch not in top 10 you know this was not an easy way to make money this time. The rider that impressed the most was
Zach Shaw, he did two solid runs and came close to win this contest but what to do against
Simon Tabron's riding: high 540's and a super high 900 in second run he was "the Man" again.
Jay Eggleston went "so High" that it looked if he had 20 coffee's in the morning: Nice one!
The wind was blowing very hard but it didn't stop these daredevils to show everything they got, it was a good contest and it showed that VERT IS NOT DEAD!
RESULTS VERT: 1. Simon Tabron
2. Zach Shaw
3. Jay Eggleston
4. Tom Haugen
5. Mike Mancuso
6. Jason Branham
7. Matt Fairbairn
8. Benni Kopp
9. Koji Kraft
10. Tom Stober
