Last weekend the Evolution 3 contest took place in Domzale Slovenia. The local park is one of the smallest you will see but is one of the best in our county. Yes Slovenia is still one of countries who spends way too much money in football , skiing…and don’t give a f**k about extreme sports. Luckily Evolution BMX shop opened this year so we can buy some BMX bikes and parts in Slovenia. And now we are negotiating to get our first indoor place in Slovenia.

About the contest: 25 riders surprised the organization by showing up at the event. Usually we must beg riders to come so we have a 10 people contest. The riders were separated in two half’s so that the beginners have some chance of wining prizes and podium places. But all the people come to see the big finals. 3rd place went to Davor Jug who would win style award if we had it. He was doing super high 360 and landing it flat at the jump box. He even (accidentally) landed a crank flip tailwhip. Nobody knows how he pulled that beside how he can do his almost 360 twisted x-ups. 2nd place went to surprise appearance at the contest, Italy one of the best riders Fabio D’Alessandro. Fabio showed everyone how to do a turndown, tailwhip air, no peg lip tricks… He had little problems 360 tailwhiping the jump box but he pulled it clean every run. 1 st place went to local rider and one of the best Slovenian riders Mario Markotic, whose priority are technical tricks and tailwhips. In the run he did a 360 x up, downside whip to disaster, wall tap to pedal stall to 270 out, cross footed tailwhip on the deck of jump box followed by 360 into landing… He did at least 5 tricks more than everyone else in the 1 minute run.

After the contest the side show followed. Little something for riders who can jump and do air. The highest air went to Rok Stopar who did a 1,80m air out of a 1,80 quarter. I didn’t believe it was possible to go that high because the quarter is not so steep. The next side event was longest bunny hop. Gasper Selcan managed to jump 5m in length from flat. We hardly find enough flat at our park to do this event. And finally the people favorite bunny hop. The first place went to Rok Krivec who cleared the 1m. mark.

And then the lights went out and the liquor mastered our minds. So no one can remember anything about the after party. Thanks to Evolution BMX Shop,
