This morning from 9am-1pm was practice. Some got up early and rode when it was not that hot but the sun came out quick and up went the temperature. Hot and humid but the show must go on. After a quick riders meeting the contest started with a group of 5 Asian riders. They were given a bit longer than the 10 minutes that the other 10 groups (of 4 riders) are getting because this extra person got squeezed in. Out with injuries are
Wade Lajlar, Bas Keep, Corey Martinez and
Dhers and
Mirra took some pretty hard slams this morning. Whether they'll ride remains to be seen.
At the moment we're in a competition break. After almost finishing 3 groups it started to rain. Hard! It's the way it goes over here sometimes and you have to deal with it. The course is being dried off at the moment and the hot temperatures will help with this. We saw flips, whips and 360-s from a lot of the Asian competitors but highlights so far were
Matt Beyers,
BiBi and
Low Chi Siang (also known as LCS). Yes,
Grotbags is having problems with some of the names of the Asian riders but he makes it all funny.
