The FISE dirt comp brought out some street riders. Ben Hennon decided to skip street and ride dirt (and mini) instead. He brought big tricks to the contest and double whipped the first set which was so awesome I could cry (inside joke). Ben Wallace rides dirt once a year and that's at the FISE contest. He tailwhipped down the kicker off the container and triple whipped the last set. Three damn tailwhips! Nuts. We also saw Phil Aller and Jason Phelan entering dirt. Good stuff. Alejandro Caro had a crazy travel schedule that allowed him to be at the venue for only three hours. He made it count though and won this year's dirt comp with three very solid runs. Bibi, Yassin and Patrick Guimez are FISE regulars and didn't disappoint. With two runs out of three counting for the final score, they ended up on place 4, 5, 6 respectively. Ricardo Laguna (USA) 360-d down the drop and pulled sweet no-handed flips. His second run was great but he had some problems staying upright in both other runs. We love to see Yannick ride every year. He pumps higher than anyone else and the only thing he does (and needs to do) is a table top. Fucking awesome.
Twenty three riders entered pro dirt and the session was awesome. When riders keep riding after the comp is over (doing it for the crowd) that's a good sign. It happened in Montpellier even when the music and microphone were shut off at 9pm.
Frontflip 360? We saw attempts and they were close.
Good shit.
