After a week spent honing their skills in London, Bournemouth and Somerset, the Relentless team were looking to take it to the next level - perfecting Zakflips and high jumps along the way. Friday even saw a satellite team of riders head back north to Adrenaline Alley for an impromptu practice session to crack tricks for the following day at NASS. The trip certainly did the trick, with Relentless’ own Mark Webb continuing his successful streak by winning the Braun Cruzer Tour and coming third in the Street Qualifier at NASS on Saturday (hot off the back off his recent qualification for the X Games later this summer!). The other riders also celebrated blazing results with Phil Aller in particular qualifying for the Street event and finishing a respectable 6th in the Braun Cruzer, while Shaun Eglington delivered his usual Relentless performance in the half pipe and even turned his hand successfully to the Street Qualifier.
Sunday saw Webby claim victory again – look out for him as he drives past/over you in his flash new car – the prize for winning the Braun Cruze! To prove that mastering your art is not all plain sailing though, spare a thought for Kyle Blake who took to the spines and broke his foot landing a trick – ‘It’s the pressure, it gets to you!’ he told us. That said, according to Kyle - “The Tour was a really amazing experience. Riding everyday with such a good mixture of crew such as Pill and Cam and visiting all these parks I’d never been to before really helped me get ready for NASS. We visited Corby twice before the contest where I landed a double tail whip air for the first time. I landed it again on Sunday’s practice for the street final but unfortunately contest pressure got too much and I broke my foot on the third attempt – during the final! The tour will stay with me forever and I’m so grateful I got given the opportunity….I just wish it could go on even longer!”
Mark Webb – “The No Half Measures Tour has been a fantastic training ground, we have had a blast and taken so much from it – Zach and the boys have been brilliant.”
