The judging system at the Rebel Jam is different. There are top three awards for Style, Originality and Difficulty. This gives stylish riders, original riders and riders who like to do hard tricks a chance to win something without having to pull off a flawless run. The qualifications will be done the regular way so you have to make it to the finals first. With Chase not present, this probably leaves a good chance to riders like Sergio, Miller, Lantschner, BF, Doyle, Bohan to win one of the awards. There are a ton of European riders too who are ripping and new guys like Ronnie Napolitan, Jeff Klugewitz who could be a threat in anything they enter.
But the most important thing at the Rebel Jam is the vibe. Riders are taken care of as they received a welcome package when they signed in, there's free food in the riders lounge and no crazy media requests for interviews and stuff like that. If you feel like riding, you can. Just pick your choice of the mini, street or dirt area. There are no 8am practice sessions planned and with the fair beer prices it almost can't fail.
Thursday was hot and sunny. Some people were chilling in their private swimming pool, some brought their favorite sports drink (Malibu) and others just rode all day. Good stuff.
The wethepeople complete bike that can be won here on FATBMX arrived as well. We've seen it, it's here. Feel free to enter the contest and use the free wireless internet connection to enter the comp. The winner better makes some extra space in his/her luggage to take that great ride home. You have to be in Berlin on Sunday to be able to win it so you better come over.
We'll keep you posted from here if we manage to leave the beer stand.......
