LOCAL BMX ATHLETE WINS FREE FLOW TOUR EVENT AT RAMP RATS SKATEPARK

Joey Chernoff won the BMX park competition this weekend at the Free Flow Tour’s Petaluma, Calif. stop, becoming a winner on the Tour’s 2008 season. Following Sunday’s action at Ramp Rats Skatepark, 21-year-old Chernoff of San Mateo, Calif. took home the BMX park title, while Ronnie Michelini and Kurt Russel took home the second- and third-place honors, respectively. “The Free Flow Tour contest at Ramp Rats was off the hook!” said park owner, Mike Krnaich, following the competition. “With 55 contestants, the energy was awesome.”
With the win, Chernoff earns an automatic bid into the Free Flow Tour finals that will take place at the AST Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge, September 11-14, 2008.
