The start of the T-Mobile Local Support in 2009 was very successful: 80 teams with an overall 160 riders meant a new record participation for the Local Support Dirt Challenge which took place on March 28th, 2009 in Mainz, Germany. The BMX and MTB riders came from all over Germany to compete in front of more than 500 spectators for prizes such as spot support valued at €4000, BBQs and starting places at the T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds. Team “Felt” consisting of
Felix Kirch and
Simon Moratz showed nice 360-whips, backflip lookdowns and frontflips and took 1st place in the BMX Pro class. So the spot support worth € 4000 splits up between Aurich and Unterholzhaisln in Bavaria.
2nd place and a huge BBQ party went to
Volker Wildner and
Moritz Kauper from Munich. BMX AM class was won by team “M&M’s” (
Max Heidböhmer / Markus Brandt) from Moers. They will be featured in a video on freedombmx.de and receive a complete safety-package from Pro-tec.
Furthermore the pro riders
Felix Kirch, Simon Moratz and
Sergej Geier secured themselves spots to ride at the Dirt Session of the T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds. The wildcard for the best amateur went to
Daniel Juchatz from Berlin. They are starting together with 3 times X-Games winner
Corey Bohan and French dirt legend
Patrick Guimez in Duisburg / Germany on April 19th, 2009.
