BMX BOK Series 2005 Burnside Deventer
Another tradition went on: BMX BOK Series at pegless park BURNSIDE Deventer. Over thirty riders entered the contest and it shows that the scene in the Netherlands is finally growing bigger and bigger and the level is improving a lot lately.
Herm and Crew are always improving the park and even raised the roof so the BMX'ers could go higher on the
Wall of Death and other places in the park.
The riders are improving as said before and we saw new talents showing up in the finals and leaving some top riders to the side. More riders were present but didn't enter so next year it is:
Enter the contest or you can't ride the park!
Mark Vos got eighth place cause he was the winner of the
Worst Slam Contest by hurting his shoulder in the miniramp and had to go to the hospital. He pulled a "really" at the "Wall of Death" though.
Souf "I want to ride all the time even if the contest is in full swing"
Belghitti showed up late but rode for hours in a row and making him too tired to pull a lot of tricks in final so 7th place was his finish.
Marten "broke" Koster on his new T1 Ruben did better in qualifier so didn't make it to top 5 with a 6th behind newcomer
Daniel W.
Daniel Wedemijer it is, new kid from the Amsterdam area showed his skills with a 5th place.
Old School No Handers, tailwhips and super flow he is the talent that we are waiting for, give him some years and he will give Barry a hard time.
Franky "Dranky" "Kruimel" Elshof is the
Superlocal and again didn't make it to 3rd place. He couldn't handle his nerves but pulled a clean Backflip over the small spine and a nice tailwhip but couldn't impress the judges
Jurrien and
Dennis.
Pim van den Bos is another "new kid on the block" from Veldhoven NB. Pulling his first
360 Tailwhip in a contest showes that he has the balls and skills and is improving very fast! Third place in a field of over 30 riders is awesome and he was happy with that.
Top 2 positions were for
High Walltap winner
Barry Köhne and
Rik "Arnhemse Meisjes" Jurjes, Rik won Qualifier but Barry showed that he is more experienced with contests and won the finals with a superhigh Walltap, Tailwhips and a Backflip over the small spine. Rik couldn't keep up with Barry's run but a 2nd place is not bad at all.
Thomas Bongers aka
"49 Cents" was crowned ALL OVER BOK winner for entering all 3 events (Inline/Skateboard/BMX) and was superstoked to win a FANTA bag with goodies provided by the Burnside crew.
Riccardo "Appel" Moes was envious about the bag and Thomas even offered him the bag! It's cool to have these type of guys at the BOK Series, it's all about the fun and no stress at all.
Thanks to the BURNSIDE crew, Micha for MC'ing, Riders for supporting the BOK Series, Eastpak for the Prices, Hope to see you again in 2006!
