In the run-up to the World Championships, Nikita Ducarroz had been diagnosed with Epstein-Barr virus, but in Abu Dhabi the BMX freestyle specialist was able to show her potential. As in the previous year, the Olympic medalist finished second place. The Swiss American explains in the interview what the medal means to her and talks about her next big goal. Nikita Ducarroz won the silver medal at the BMX Freestyle World Championships held as part of the Urban Cycling Championships in Abu Dhabi. After an unsuccessful first run, the 26-year-old from Geneva living in North Carolina advanced to second place thanks to an excellent performance in her second run. As at last year’s World Championship in Montpellier, the Olympic bronze medalist from Tokyo was beaten only by Hannah Roberts from the USA. Olympic champion Charlotte Worthington (GBR) finished the competition in fifth place.

After a rainy day on Friday the UCI BMX Park World Cup continued on Saturday. The Elite Men class turned into a semi-final with 78 riders. The cut to 12 riders for Sunday's final was touch but these are the results. Make sure to tune in on Sunday to watch the finals live. The 2018 season will get a rad opening in Japan. From April 6th to 8th, Hiroshima’s former Municipal Stadium will be home to the FISE action sports and peace festival. FISE World Series 2017 concluded just one month ago in Chengdu, China, but it is already time to prepare next season’s grand opening. Action sports festivals such as FISE are experiencing worldwide growth, especially amongst young people.
Within this new context, FISE Hiroshima can be regarded as a significant step forward in generating awareness of, and interest in, youth-focused events like Skateboarding and BMX Freestyle throughout Japan. The festival will feature a strong focus on events that can be enjoyed casually by young people and women throughout the city.

UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup Women Final. Another day of pure sunshine and adrenaline in Edmonton, Alberta for the second day of the FISE World Series Edmonton stop. Even though Mother Nature was a bit on the difficult side today, we did manage to crown our first winner, as the women opened the pro competitions with the UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup finals. It’s American Hannah Roberts took the win in today’s event, with her sheer determination to get back on the highest step of the podium after finishing third in the last FISE stop in Budapest. Her solid first run and enormous second run combined really truly in her favor in the eyes of the judges. Her versatility and ability to throw tricks on every feature say a lot about her talent and mostly, her bike control. The
The wood, metal, and dirt just landed in William Hawrelak Park and the building is well underway for the third stop of the FISE World Series 2017, in Edmonton, Canada. As soon as the containers arrived from Budapest, the FISE Area builders started the process of putting everything together to recreate once more our famous riding areas.
