FATBMX: Do you think that traveling is a big part of BMX?
Kym Grosser: I think traveling is the best part of bmx! You get to meet lots of new people an party with chicks from all over the world , doesn't get much better than that...
FATBMX: How stoked are you to not have to mess with your brakes when you put your bike in a box?
Kym Grosser: I love it! but I've never had brakes so I've never had the hassels that come with brakes..
FATBMX: How is riding trails with no brakes?
Kym Grosser: It's easy to ride trails with no brakes here in Australia cause the trails don't get that big but Elevation was another story!! I was a little nervous riding them..
FATBMX: Was the Elevation course tough riding brakeless?
Kym Grosser: Yeah for sure, you definitely need brakes to get used to the Elevation course but once you get comfortable you don't need to use them..
FATBMX: What do you like about riding without brakes?
Kym Grosser: I like having a solid bike with no rattles an cables getting tangled, an I like not having to depend on brakes for certain tricks. I'm not into fufanus so I don't really have any problems with no brakes..
FATBMX: Have you gotten in any road accidents because of it?
Kym Grosser: I've come close to being hit on the roads but never been run over, you just have to be extra cautious around cars..
FATBMX: Do you have a shoe sponsor?
Kym Grosser: Yeah I get help from Orchid shoes.
FATBMX: Who else supports you in bike riding?
Kym Grosser: Mainly Macneil but there's a bmx distro here in Austrailia called Triple Six an they look after me pretty well..
FATBMX: Have you ever thought about moving to the USA to live the pro BMX life?
Kym Grosser: I always wanted to move to the States cause a lot of my friends have done it like Colin Mackay, Bohan, Mccann, but I've never been able to afford it. I work full time as a concretor an the cost of living is bullshit! so I can't save money that easy ...too many bills an debts to pay, story of my life...
FATBMX: Which of the Aussies that moved to the USA did you used to ride with on a regular basis?
Kym Grosser: Probably Steve McCann an Luke Parslow cause they were from Melboune but I rode with Mackay, Bohan, Dillewaard an Guettler a bit when we went to comps an stuff..
FATBMX: Has summer started yet over there?
Kym Grosser: Oh yeah, it's bloody hot at the moment! It gets too hot to ride so me an my friends usually hang at the beach or pool an drink a lot!!
FATBMX: Plans for the next few months:
Kym Grosser: Only plans coming up are Janurary an Feburary 08. I'm going to Estonia an England to ride an destroy the streets an slay the chicks...
FATBMX: Any thanks/last words:
Kym Grosser: last words would be to all the kids out there. Do your own thing when you ride! Don't get caught up with bmx politics and have fun with your mates ... and thanks heaps to Jay and everyone at Macneil bikes you guys rule, an thanks to Chris at triple six distro for everything an to all the friends I've made on my travels, an all my mates here in Aus, peace...
