going to take a trip somewhere soon
Can you explain what it's like to cruise NYC?
Stephon Fung: Living in NYC is like no other, I've been to Austin, I've been to Cali and I think NYC Still has the best vibes to cruise around, it's always something new, from complete chaos to the dopest day and night surrounded by perfect views. Riding or just hanging out there's always something going down.
Do you pedal everywhere or do you have other forms of transport that you use in the big city?
Stephon Fung: Well out by my house there isn't really any subways or anything, so I usually drive out to spots or a park, but when I'm in the city I usually just ride wherever, it may seem far at times but when you're with a good group of people you wouldn't even know how far you pedaled.
What are spots you hit up on a regular basis?
Stephon Fung: Since I go to school in Brooklyn now, I usually hit up Fort Greene park, there's a bunch of sick spots up by the monument, probably the south seaport ledges on the Lower East Side, and a couple parks to go chill at. I'm pretty much open to anything, I love rails, ledges and a nice decent hip or bank.
Do you go spot hunting a lot?
Stephon Fung: Of course, a couple friends and I have been going around on the island recently just looking for spots in places we've never been, and we've been finding some dope stuff!
When you seen a good spot in a movie or on TV and you know it's in NYC, do you need to find out where it is exactly?
Stephon Fung: Haha I wish!, usually when I watch something I'm like yooooo! I was just riding that spot like last week, movies and tv shows usually film by the private spots that are quick boots.
Who's a good guy to know as far as NYC riding spots are concerned?
Stephon Fung: I would say probably myself and the rest of the FTL squad.
Do you run into the FTL crew a lot?
Stephon Fung: I run with the FTL crew, Billy and Panza are close friends if mine, we're always cruising.
What about Nigel Sylvester?
Stephon Fung: I run into Nigel occasionally at the park or maybe Dah Shop, he's always up to something new, I respect it.
You've recently got sent a Premium prototype frame. How does that baby ride?
Stephon Fung: Oh man! Josh and I came up with some plans for it and it happened. Beyond stoked on it, it has a short rear end, steeper head tube angle, there'll be a couple more tweaks and adjustments but it's for sure going to be a beast when it's out.
Do you prefer making videos over riding contests?
Stephon Fung: I prefer both. Contest are sick because you have whatever time given to put in that work, and it all depends on you and your consistency, and I like being consistent with what I do. Videos however are sick because in the end you look back over it like yeah all the work out into it was worth it.
What's the craziest street jam you've ever been a part of?
Stephon Fung: Street Series NYC, I've never witnessed something more insane! I wish I had a go pro to just record the chaos! Dude we rode through a private tunnel and it had like a police command truck on the other side haha!
What's the craziest thing you saw someone do this month?
Stephon Fung: Dillon LLoyd OSS part from "On Everything" absolutely insane.
What's on the agenda for Stephon Fung for the upcoming months. Anything exciting?
Stephon Fung: I'm excited for this semester to be over. I'm going to Canada to hang out with Brandon Webster this summer, and in June I'll be driving down to Florida with my homie to shred. I would like to possibly go on a trip with my Premium boys!
