My 2017. Pat Casey rides different. And in Freestyle, different is good. His fakie stuff is so hard which is also a reason you don't see it happen often in contests. Watching Pat ride practice is one of my favourite things. He treats the course like a Supercross MX track and finds a take-off where he can send it sideways every time. With all the traveling, his family and his vlog, Pat has his hands full. Never a dull moment.

Do you remember the first BMX event you went to this year and how did it go?
Patrick Casey: Feld BMX triple challenge, I got 2nd, I would say it went pretty well.

How many weekends/days were you away from home and at a BMX jam/contest or on tour?
Patrick Casey: 2017 has been my busiest year by far. I went to every contest I could, it was hard leaving the kids and wife for so many weeks at a time.

What was the best event you went to this year that gets your vote?
Patrick Casey: Night Harvest and Ultimate X, because I love SA. The people who put on the events were awesome, had so much planned for us to do, and my wife came with me. It was a nice escape for the both of us.

What contest placing were you stoked on this year?
Patrick Casey: Probably the first stop at BMX Triples. It was nice to podium first contest of the season.

What trick/move were you happy to pull for the first time this year?
Patrick Casey: Fakie cash roll for the dream yard 3 video.

Who had the best looking bike in 2017?
Patrick Casey: Me of course.

What was your worst injury in 2017?
Patrick Casey: My lip went through my face filming for DY 3.

Worst thing that happened while you’re on the road?
Patrick Casey: I got the flu in Australia for the Vans Cup. Kevin Peraza spent his down time taking care of me. Thanks Kevin!

How many flat tires did you have the past 12 months?
Patrick Casey: Too many to count. Haha

Best meal you had?
Patrick Casey: In Guadalajara, we went to a restaurant called Tomaté, best food ever.

Best party you visited in 2017?
Patrick Casey: The Monster X Games after party was definitely a good time.

Raddest person you got to hang out with this year?
Patrick Casey: Definitely Jonathan Camacho. Good times in China.

Best thing you saw in 2017?
Patrick Casey: Probably my son killing it riding. He amazes me everyday, watching him grow and the stuff he learns.. it’s awesome.

Plans for 2018?
Patrick Casey: Keep going to as many contests as I can, keeping up with the YouTube channel, and making memories with the family.
