Do you remember the first BMX event you went to this year and how did it go?
Kalkoff Kevin: Yes it was the Vans bowl contest in Sydney, Australia and I had to ride during the open qualifier to get a chance to enter the actual pro contest and I did ride and qualified for it but also had some issues with my bike there and that made me struggle a little bit with it after the contest...

How many weekends/days were you away from home and at a BMX jam/contest or on tour?
Kalkoff Kevin: I don’t know at all but I was away for a quiet a bit.

What was the best event you went to this year that gets your vote?
Kalkoff Kevin: 100% The Vans bowl contest in Malaga, the level was mental, it was unreal to see that many good riders riding that masterpiece!

What contest placing were you stoked on this year?
Kalkoff Kevin: I didn’t ride that many contests and didn’t really do good at contests this year.

What trick/move were you happy to pull for the first time this year?
Kalkoff Kevin: I don’t know one in particular but during the filming of my Monster Energy edit, I was able to visit a lot of crazy street set-ups that I had in my mind and being able to film on those things was actually super sick.

What BMX move stands out the most to you that somebody did this year?
Kalkoff Kevin: Hmmm, I don’t know if I’ve seen too many good things but it’s hard to find one in particular.

Who had the best looking bike in 2017?
Kalkoff Kevin: Me, ahah!! Nah I don’t know, I like clean, simple setup. No oil slick bikes for sure.

Who had the best video/video-part that stuck out to you?
Kalkoff Kevin: Nathan Williams in Chapters but I enjoyed Ruben's part a lot too.

What was your worst injury in 2017?
Kalkoff Kevin: It was when I tweaked my knee.

Worst thing that happened while you’re on the road?
Kalkoff Kevin: Realizing that I had less than 6 months of validity on my passport 2 days before I flew to Tel Aviv, it was a bit of a struggle but I managed to fly on time.

How many flat tires did you have the past 12 months?
Kalkoff Kevin: I would say 5 maybe.

Best meal you had?
Kalkoff Kevin: They have some good food in Tel Aviv.

Best party you visited in 2017?
Kalkoff Kevin: Vans party in Cali.

Raddest person you got to hang out with this year?
Kalkoff Kevin: All my friends when we go on trips.

Best thing you saw in 2017?
Kalkoff Kevin: I don’t know, the show we did in Switzerland where BMX became more of an art than a sport as it was mix with music, lights & dance but that sounds a little weird as I was part of it...

Plans for 2018?
Kalkoff Kevin: There is a few projects that are stating to line up but I’ll attend to ride at the Vans bowl contest for sure.
