The Timo jam officially started because Timo van Lierop and the Aarle-Rixtel were missing a jam around the month of October. Especially during the one week school holiday at this time of the year there was nothing going on. Timo changed that with the "Timo Jam" and this year was already the 3rd edition. It isn't safe to say that BMX is booming in Aarle-Rixtel but it sure is alive. It showed at the Timo Jam where mostly locals showed up for a session on the ramp. Even the mayor showed up who must have been surprised seeing spooks, Santa Claus, skeletons and punks riding the green ramp. Prizes were gathered from several sponsors to give out to whoever did something good, or good enough to pick up a prize. It looked like everyone who even hit the ramp went home with a BMX magazine, a Snafu part, Vans hat, shoes or buttons or whatever was available. Paul's old ghetto blaster took care of the sounds and the megaphone was the microphone. Aarle-Rixtel style. It seems like bad weather forecasts don't count for Ale Blie, it was dry and even sunny most of the day. Another fun day on the BMX. That's what mattered.

For an afternoon in mid-October an intersection in Golden Gate Park was transferred back in time to the 1980's. The scene developed slowly like a lazy Sunday does; first a few bikes, then a few more and before you know it you've got 50 people with bikes and an impromptu jam circle just like back in the day when BMX freestyle was brand new. To think this used to happen every Sunday is almost unbelievable but it did. And, I'll venture to say that until this last weekend's 2nd annual Dave Vanderspek Memorial Ride,

More than 80 Pro and Am riders participated in the T-Mobile Local Support Street Challenge on October 17th and showed amazing BMX riding to a large audience at the Tretlager Halle in Emmering near Munich.

The pro class riding was at the highest stage: With real bangers like superman flips, flipwhips, 360 bars to whip as well as some techy tricks the riders raised the riding level and atmosphere at the indoor bike park with every single run. In the end Czech Agang team Ondra Slez and Zdenda Pesck took the win by a narrow margin in front of the Czech-Austrian Red Bull duo Michael Beran and Senad Grosic. The reason for their victory was a top-notch team performance including a flair tailwhip by Ondra Slez whilst his team buddy Zendra Pesck did a perfectly timed wallride under him. With their prize, spot support worth € 4.000, team Agang has now the ability to strengthen the BMX infrastructure in their home country. Sven „Sprosse“ Lehmann and Tino Schnecke from Berlin took the 3rd place.

The bleachers in the Amway Arena were filled to the brim tonight during BMX park Finals. With Dennis Enarson out after a hard crash in yesterday's Dirt Finals, 11 riders remained in tonight’s event. Everyone rode amazingly well, with placements flip-flopping constantly as each run drastically changed today's standings. In the end, it was Ryan Nyquist who came out on top of the podium. But, the big story of today, is that after three years in a row of Daniel Dhers reigning supreme, BMX Park has a new Dew Cup winner: Garrett

Dirt prelims on Friday were plagued with heat and humidity. Tonight, however, mother nature threw us a bone, kicked in a cold front and dropped the temperature down to 62 degrees. Fall has finally hit Florida—a perfect atmosphere for Dew Tour Dirt Finals and the fight for the overall Dew Cup. What a Finals it was – every past winner of the Dew Cup was in tonight's event (Guettler, Napolitan, Nyquist, and White), and the field of twelve put on a great show for the Orlando crowd. And the overall winner is…Ryan Nyquist. The pressure was eased up a little bit for this Dew Tour veteran (and living BMX legend) considering that as long as he didn't dip below sixth place in tonight’s event, he would be leaving Orlando with a Dew Cup. Ending up in fifth tonight did the trick, and Nyquist won another Dew Cup to go with the one he took home in 2007.
