It's Monday morning and we've been in Cali for a few days now. On Saturday we stopped at Lonnie Paxton's place in Riverside. I don't know the actual title of the jam as it was not announced or publicized but I heard something about St. Paddy jam or something. Whatever the excuse, or reason, I was well impressed when I showed up. Music was blasting, tons of RV's were parked up the street and had a great view onthe trails and it was incredible to see how many people had shown up for a non-publicized event. Parked the Ford Focus up the hill, grabbed the camera bag and looked for the entrance. As this was a benefit jam for the AFF (Active Force Foundation) I was expecting an entry fee but waling in the gate was easy and if you were 21 or over you got a wristband so you could order drinks. The jam was at Paxton's place, an american football player who went to highschool with Heith Pinter. As Lonnie spends most of his time in Denver (plays for the Bronco's now), he let Heith build some trails in the yard next to the house. They were in top shape for the day.

Last weekend the Premium Contest was held in Belgium at Peter Geys' indoor place. Only Dutch riders could compete. There was only one prize to be won and that was to become the Dutch Premium BMX team rider. Here's the word from Peter Geys on what happened: "A lot of our dutch friends showed up, all to show their skills. The judges (the Premium team riders, Sven, Greg and Wouter) had a hard job to pick out the best rider in our park. But we have a great winner! Ladies and gentlemen, we proudly present the new Premium Team Rider: Bart Mol"

There's Halloween in the States, but anywhere else there's Carnival; in Italy we have a big tradition for this festivity, just think at the Carnival of Venice or the parade in Viareggio, not to mention the Battle of the Oranges in Ivrea (Youtube this one!). It seems to be ages since 13 of our riders armed with their bikes, tried to take apart Grand Canary Island. We almost succeeded but the island has so many great spots so there are plenty left for yet another road trip. The spots seem endless, even when we were on our way back to the airport we sadly had to recognize that there are some undiscovered spots we didn’t ride this time. Almost 1 ½ months passed since this trip and articles in Freedom magazine and DIG

Jet Pilot team rider Jaie Toohey has taken 2nd place in the Haro bikes Pro street/park and 2nd place in the Backbone BMX pro King of Dirt in the 2009 Rockstar BMX games. “We are stoked on Jaie, he is on a roll at the moment, he has taken out the KOD event in Brisbane, was the standout rider on the Colony/Forgotten bikes tour and has now taken 2nd in the pro park and 2nd in the pro dirt at the biggest freestyle event in Australia the Rockstar BMX games”. Jet Pilot Marketing Manager Chris Apps said. 
Day two of the 2009 Rockstar Energy Drink BMX Games presented by Strictly BMX was an even crazier day of Freestyle BMX Action as the best of the best battled it out for Champion of the Haro Bikes Park/Street competition. Despite a mix of challenges from the elements including 35 degree heat and whippy little wind gusts coming of Docklands Harbours, the Junior, Expert, Female and Pro riders put on another gutsy display of Freestyle BMX at its best. The Pro finals took place under the afternoon sun and the spectator galleries were packed with BMX fans holding some high expectations - they were not disappointed. Melbourne local Andrew Ahumada was definitely a crowd favourite consistently nailing tight displays of triple whips and X-ups. Another crowd pleaser and overall standout at the 2009 BMX Games was 17 year old Queenslander Jaie Toohey. Buzz at the games
