After watching numerous web videos every day I slipped in Issue 72 of Props in the DVD player and watched it on the "big screen." Man, how good was that. Good sounds, good quality and for once a better picture than the embedded block on the computer screen. I was stoked on the Tom Dugan Bio. The dude has style and attitude and no care in the world. Perfect combination. He definitely deserved a Bio in Props and is an indication that there are awesome riders doing their thing all over the place.

This is my RACE CPX100 version of end 1980/ beginning 1981 with some lightweight stuff it made the heavy CPX100 a lot lighter, 11,83kg is not bad for a hi-tention steel bike. Numberplate is the second plate after racing a couple of races with a WOODEN #plate! Bike inspection stickers are still in the back, all bikes needed to be inspected before the races and was a nightmare! Cutting off handlebars/axles/brakebolts/chainguards etc was necessary to pass the test but we were losing weight that way so every race the bike went lighter.

Print costs are high these days and what better way to reach the widest audience of all than through the internet. Jarrod Allen and Joey Cobbs have done just that with their new digital magazine called Bay St. The main feature in the maiden issue is about a rider called Doug Blankenship who was literally saved by BMX after being homeless. Along with not being scared to try anything on his bike Doug also has some tales. Jarrod comes from a video background while Joey is a photographer and both had this to say about their new project:

Jarrod: "Well, Joeys an amazing photographer with original style that inspires me to create on a bike and around a camera even when we're just driving around lurking. So when he told me about this idea of Bay St. I assumed I could donate some material. I don't think I even asked him if I could."

Lazer launched this week-end a new series of goggles which are realized in cooperation with manufacturer Ariete from Italy, where the goggles are made. Lazer’s new series includes two models, the Track and the Factory, with the latter being the top product.

Sometimes you see things in BMX and feel ambarrassed that it is possible to have something like that connected to our lifestyle, or sport or however you want to call what we're doing. Other times you're damn stoked on something and feel proud you're part of it. Although I've got nothing to do with Rebelyell other than delivering a messy FATBMX ad for every issue, I feel proud that BMX can deliver such a magazine. Rebelyell is class. Rebelyell is stylish. The layout is awesome and so are the photos. The style stokes me. So different, but so good. The current issue has the theme "Hands On" and I'm also down with that. Sometimes you've got to try out something new. The Ryan Villopoto shoes from Vans look different but they're the most comfortable pair of Vans I've ever owned. Compare it to attending a tradeshow for days standing on the concrete and then walking 

When I picked up the June issue of BMX Plus! I was stoked to see a Dutch rider on the cover. I thought it was Robert de Wilde on his orange Redline and TLD gear but the plate didn't say 77. I looked a little closer to see who else of the "orange crush" team it was but it was neither one of them. Maybe you had the same experience (probably not) but it is in fact John Purse riding that organge bike in the gear that the Dutch National team wore at the 2008 Olympic

You've had the opportunity to get your own bike together at Mirraco, the current one is white, is it hard to pick one colour that has to last for a model year?
Ryan:  I'll put a new bike together about every 3 months. I have 4 built up bikes right now so picking colours for myself is not too bad but picking the colours for Mirraco's line of bikes is hard because I'm picking a colour for other people to buy not just what I think works for me. The first year wasn't so bad because I could just pick mostly black but this year was hard because we have done so many colours but still try and be fresh every time. But we ended up killing it so the 2010 bikes are looking the best yet...

Whatever happened to the splatter paint job?
Ryan: I was going to do red splatter to this bike but once I got all the parts together it just looked really good so I didn't want to mess with it. But you will see more of it.
