Believe it or not but I just typed up a RIDE UK review that took me 45 minutes. I went through the whole list in the mag. Page by page. When I wanted to upload it, the fucking back-office ran out of time and automatically logged out. I normally play it save by copying the text before hitting the upload button but this time I did not. I was going to forget about the whole damn review but basically I had no one to blame but myself. I am now well aware of what's inside the latest RIDE UK mag. For those who think it's a bike check issue with 22 British Role Models I'm 100% sure they haven't read it all. There is so much more than that. The short little interviews of various types with Mitch Yates, Jason Phelan, The Count, Tony Hamlin, Jordan Utley, Charlie Jobling, Dave Jacobs, and Jon Edwards are just the beginning. 164 pages of BMX in total. The main articles are about the Role Models, a BlackOut Distro trip, Josh Bedford interview, and a Profile trails mission. But then we haven't mentioned the contest 
Some magazines just follow the trendy people, do some interviews and road trips and are happy that another month has passed by. At Cream they do it a little different. They are the creators of the scene and since they're based in Paris, they've got a good view on fashion too. But next to bringing you the trendy Paris fashion they also have loads of BMX stuff in the mag. After some regular articles (Editorial, TOC, contest schedule, nusic reviews, product news, and a Patoch column) the mag speeds up into a Simpel Session report. Julien Muguet's portfolio gets opened followed by a 6 page Homeboy report on Arthur Dietrich who currently lives in England. A trip from Colombia to Panama will bring some good stuff. Raphael Chiquet made the journey and reports about it in the March-April 09 issue. Portfolios with photographers will result in great photos for the mag. Hannes Ortmann provides some of his favorites to fill pages 44-49.

It's a tough decision what to do with the magazine reviews. We haven't even seen the actual RIDE copy of Issue 153 and we already received the cover and contents list of issue 154. Now we could wait until this issue arrives in the mail, or give you the full list of what's inside now. This time we opted for the latter. We've also got copies of Cream, RIDE UK and BMX Plus! laying here on the desk so expect a review of those actual mags in the next few days. It was a surprise to me to find out there is a full colour BMX magazine from Spain. I normally know what's out there but this time I did not know what to think and had no clue who was behind the publication. The other day I received a mail from BMX A Tope! and today I got two copies in the mail. Issue 8, and issue 9. The October issue (#8) is all about the BMX race at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, photos and all. I wouldn't say the paper quality, photos and layout are top notch but issue 9 showed where they're coming from. BMX A Tope! used to be a 'zine (issue 1-7 were xeroxed 'zines) so the full size full colour magazines (issue 8 and 9) must have felt very special for the editors and everyone on the BMX scene in Spain. I like the effort that goes into these projects and you must have a BMX heart to pull this off. It's fair to say that BMX A TOPE! is focusing on BMX racing first but it also has a "Zona Free" which includes Freestyle contest reports. I'm not sure Sergej Geier knows he's got
